Also the copyright monster got its hands on this video and so there are a couple of odd cuts due to video I had to remove, at about the 6 min mark where Harper came onto Phil in the bar bathroom and again at 17min mark where I talked about how Harper and Drew's relationship needs to crumble sorry about that.
I absolutely love when you do these breakdown videos. It's nice to see other people's take on this relationship. I most definitely agree with everything. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
I honestly love your Shortland Street videos so much and I have to agree that I want to know more about Phil outside of her relationship with Harper, find out what her interests are outside of her work, have her develop friendships with people like Selina. Then, after Harper and Drew's marriage implodes, then Phil and Harper can get together after enough time as passed so Phil doesn't feel like a rebound.
@@100percentshipper Ehh. I slightly disagree. GLB is about a woman who dates men because she's in denial about her sexuality. Harper has never denied she's bi; she's just unsure she wants to leave her marriage.
Love your analysis. Thanks for providing so much context. I noticed that when Harper told Phil "I love Drew" (around 10:45), she also shakes her head from side to side when she says it, and ends with an interrogative, as if she is asking herself a question rather than making a declaration. I love Harper and Phil, but the power imbalance between them was too much. I'm glad Phil drew a line.

When Harper tells Phil "I love Drew" (10:47), she also shakes her head from side to side while saying it and ends with an interrogative - as if she's asking herself a question rather than making a declaration. Personally, I think she loves both Drew and Phil, but she is has unexpectedly fallen *in* love with Phil, romantically (that was the "earthquake" revelation for her), in a way that she is not feeling with Drew (I'm assuming that's why she has been avoiding sex with him? Or perhaps she is feeling too much guilt?).

I love your videos about this couple so much! Thanks to the first video like this I found your channel and I am so grateful for that! thank you for continuing to cover their story, this video gave me hope that their story is not over yet ❤ the scripting for this show and characters are a bit messy but i hope it all will work out :) and i also share your doubts about two main couples being queer in one show, as sad as it is. but let's see maybe we'll get lucky
Aw, I'm so glad I could introduce you to them. I think it'll be a bit of a desert for the next while but I'm sure I'll be back at some point when their story has progressed as I am now convinced it will!
So, in the end, we´re in the hands and mood of the writers and as life itself, sometimes real people stay inside their comfort zone as long as they feel safe in search of that "normality lost" that never comes back.
Villiami is cute for Phil for the time being until Harper leaves Drew, it just sucks that her friendship with Selina will suffer when everything goes down!
I just don't see a spark between Phil and Villi. The are just kind of... um... pleasant together. I don't see the same connection or chemistry between the two of them that I see with Harper and Phil.
I love your video and sincerely hope you are right. Today's episode seems to track your prediction about maybe splitting Maecole up to make room for Pharper. Have renewed hope now! I love the idea of Maecole as a couple yet somehow I never saw them as having great chemistry. Maeve and Rebekah had a lot more chemistry than Maecole. (Personal opinion of course...)

That was soooo good. Thank you! I too have wondered whether Phil and Harper would be together because of Maeve and Nicole. It will be interesting to see what happens. Thanks again for this. I loved every moment of your analysis. Let's see if you're right about Harper and Phil. I hope so ❤
Would you choose HarperPhil over MaeveNicole??im not...i rather still having MaeveNicole for decade to come....HarperPhil will fell flat easy...MaeveNicole their characters development so good and complex!!
@@idhamnasir7810Not really fair to compare them, though, with Jane (Phil) only having been on the show for about 6 months now... The audience is only just getting to know more about Phil outside of her ties with Harper and Drew but the actress is doing a damn good job portraying her.
@@jessican.7295 if they can find/create a hidden talent and truly deep depth into Phil character the story of that couple would be easily longer cause Harper character already reach a dull stage and like no more story's left to tell...yes they together are great, miracle even but individually they are bit on a boring side....
@@idhamnasir7810Agree to disagree here. I mean, yes, I also think their on-screen chemistry is great but I find Phil's scenes pretty endearing in itself and it's interesting to explore her character more. But, of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I respect yours.
Yes it does mean that but I don't know if it's a kiwi saying, it was something we were talking about on the discord channel, so I slipped it in as a wink to those peeps
Same I do like Drew, he's got his faults but then so does Harper omg, they have chemistry but ultimately they really just bring the worst out in each other and have not dealt with their issues at all. It's time for it to implode!
why do I feel like something big is going to happen to Phil and that will be the reason for everything to come out? It will force Harper to come to Phil's aid or something 🤨
I must say I’m a believer that Harper and Nicole will eventually get back together at some point in the show but I sadly don’t see it happen any time soon.
I'm watching from the USA because of Nicole/Maeve and Harper/Phil!! If the powers that be want to see what courting a Sapphic audience can do internationally, just look at the success of the GL series from Thailand, GAP, Blank, Loyal Pin, etc. MILLIONS of views online within 24 hours of each episode dropping!! Shortland Street has a built in advantage too that it's already broadcast in English.
Olá, obrigada por me contextualizar sobre a história de Harper, agora a entendo melhor. O casamento com Drew está no fim mas acho que Harper e Phil vão precisar ir bem devagar porque estão em pontos bem distintos na vida. Beijos do Brasil 🇧🇷
In the last episode Harper and Drew had a terrible fight. I do think their marriage is not going to last. I really hope she and Phil will get back together, their chemistry is unique ❤️ Btw thank you so much, I absolutely ADORE your Shortland Street videos!
Agree with you about Nic being unbearable. She doesn't deserve Maeve and never has. With that said, it would feel weird to me if the show sunsetted Maeve and Nicole and brought Harper/Phil together for real at the same time - like swapping out one sapphic couple for another. I also don't see Maeve and Nicole splitting again after already reconciling post-Wilder. Although they are long overdue for a conversation about how Nicole is not only treating Maeve like crap when she (Nicole) is grieving, but she did the same when *Maeve* was grieving Wilder. I also agree with you at around 7:00 about Phil taking agency back. I'm glad she went back on the harassment thing-I think she knew it would've outed them-but a line needed to be drawn. Maeve's face at 12:00 is great. She's only just come around to Drew-I'm looking forward to her reaction when she hears about Risk night.
For sure it would feel weird to 'swap the lesbian couple' I guess optically I struggle to see two major sapphic couples on a 3 day a week soap next year... but hopefully I underestimate Shorty! Yeah, Nicole was awful after Wilder's death and she's being awful now too. I know she's had a bad track record with them but she so desperately needs therapy, she has years of compounded trauma.
@@100percentshipper Nicole Zara said in a comment that "therapists are one of the things Nicole needs therapy from," and I totally agree. Hard paradox to get out of for sure.
I'm still feeling very optimistic. Although they've been pulled apart for what feels like an ice age, the writers keep giving us these moments every week or so, to affirm that Harphil are still on track. This week it was the hug when Phil came back and Sage so pointedly turning to Harper and saying how when two people are perfect for each other, why wait (or something like that) when he was in fact talking to Villie about Phil. They've reassured us numerous times how Harper and Phil have these very real feelings for each other and every attempt for Harper to save her marriage is clearly coming to nothing with many chess pieces being put on the board to lead to a dramatic explosion when all the secrets come out. For me it's not a matter of if but when and like I said, I could see things lasting until the end of the year quite easily. Strap in!
Someone suggested on the discord channel that Nicole is headed for a story about long term depression and I'm like - that would be amazing because she's been tough to watch lately and I feel like she's going to spiral further before things get better.
I have fast forwarded her lately and felt guilty about it, so when you said she was annoying you I though "ha, validation" :) Makes sense they may be writing that arc, an important one for sure. I share your worry about 2 happy couples, I hope it's Harper and Phil who make it
I really don't want to see Maeve unhappy again, but Nicole does not deserve her. Even when she was with Rebekah, she was grieving Wilder and essentially her marriage as well-we've never seen her without Nicole and she's put up with way too much. I'd like to see Maeve finally have enough of Nicole. I've heard people talking Maeve/Phil, and while I don't see it romantically I do hope they become friends-they have so much more in common than Maeve wants to admit.
@EleanorHudd yeah poor Maeve. Endlessly patient. She often says that Nicole is her "amazing wife". Is she? Cos I just don't see it. Nicole had been tough going for aaaaages. Maeve deserves something better than being Nicole's endless punching bag. It's hard to watch Maeve continuously get shat on by Nicole.
Sorry, long post alert, but this is something I had on my mind for such a long time, I just couldn't write a short version of this. As someone who has a totally different approach to these storylines, here are my 5 cents. All of these are fictional, invented by storywriters based for one on what producers want to see and for two on what the contracts with the actors permit. If you're looking for the deep sense in the story, I believe you're wrong from start, there is no such thing, there are only real life necessities plus the will of producers out of which storywriters have to generate a story that on screen looks halfway believable, they are literally reverse engineered, any deep sense you might interpret into it wasn't there on start but emerged from the end result. Best example, why was Lucy missing for almost a full season of NCIS Hawaii? Was there a crisis in her relationship, or why did she accept a job abroad? Nope, the actress playing Lucy was busy with another job, acting in a movie and couldn't be present on set for the series. That said, here's my (highly speculative) theory about what's going on. I believe it's the evolution of thinking in the brains of producers. We've seen things starting in old times with almost all gay characters either getting killed or into a hetero marriage or ending up as heartbroken singles, continued with a long time of huge drama, breaking up pretty much all gay couples in worst possible ways, where I'm guessing producers wanted to portrait gay relationships as something that will always fail. There were few exceptions of this, but they were really rare, The Fosters being an example. But the fans kept turning away from these extreme dramas, meaning producers of series had to cancel many of their productions due to dropping viewer numbers and movies had by far not as much success as expected. Greys Anatomy went steep down in popularity when they broke up Calzona, even though they kept the series going, The L Word Generation Q was cancelled when the fans found a desperate attempt to save it by another reunion of Bette and Tina just too absurd, Station 19 was very close to getting cancelled when storywriters kept increasing the insane level of drama between Maya and Carina to a point where almost all fans believed they would ultimately remain apart, Shortland Street had almost the same storyline between Nicole and Maeve, movies like Eileen got as low as 53% (among verified reviews) on rotten tomatoes, and so on and so on and so on. Parallel to this there came up an ever increasing amount of independent movies and series the fans liked much better, like GAP, that still had a huge load of drama, but all had a happy ending, where at some point it must have become predictable for the big producers that the independent productions were taking over a larger share of the market than the big producers were comfortable with. I would have loved to listen to the meetings the big producers must have had behind the scenes, where they figured out that they have to give their storylines happy endings as well. That's when and why producers turned storylines around, reuniting Nicole and Maeve as well as Maya and Carina and many others, ending the huge chain of drama followed by more drama. Next step in this evolution appears to be lasting happy stories, where producers seem to have figured out that viewers like storylines the better the less drama is in them. The apparent attempt to get back the market shares they have lost to independent productions turned them completely around, leaving Nicole and Maeve, Maya and Carina and many others out of big drama for quite a while by now, where I believe Shortland Street has put a cherry on top by getting Harper into a new gay story after several seasons of being married to a man, that seems to become (after some drama) another lasting love story. There still are real life necessities when contracts of actors expire and don't get renewed or things like that, which may be the reason why Greys Anatomy is still struggling to find a suitable lesbian couple the fans will love without the storyline becoming unbelievable, but I'm sure they will get there. Also there still are procucers who just don't want to give up their theory that more drama sells better and gay storylines shouldn't have happy endings, but they will learn their lesson sooner or later, because in the end viewer numbers is all that counts. In parallel we're seeing independent productions now coming up with short series almost entirely without drama, in this early stage mostly very low budget productions where "amateurish" would still be a compliment for actors as well as the rest of it, but hey, it's a start. Channels like "H'our channel", "Change2561" and "PINK" are leading the way. In short, we're witnessing the dawn of a new generation of LGBTQ+ representation in movies and series and for my taste we're going in the right direction.
Wow, so much to your thoughtful comment, thanks for sharing. Agreed things like actor availability will play a factor but Jane just signed on as core cast, so they've got her on contract for at least a bit and I don't see Ria going anywhere. It def played into my analysis of the possible future for HarPhil. I know there are multiple queer writers/other queer peeps involved in the behind the scenes and have been for years, so I think they're a bit more clued up than most writer's rooms about the issues of sapphic representation and that has been evident in the writing for almost 2 decades and in the last 4 or so years especially. I don't know that the rise of sapphic shows like the Thai GL shows that have been so popular are going to impact how they tell HarPhil because the blueprint of the soap is drama, it's not something they can change about it otherwise people tune out because you can't sustain low stakes drama and happy endings over years. Harper and Drew are a case in point. Short 8-10 episode series can however so it feels like a different beast. The question really comes down to do the writers want to a. break Harper and Drew up and b. Do they want to build on what they've written so far that points to a serious and deep love between Harper and Phil? I feel like the signposts are pointing to a yes.
@@100percentshipper Thanks for the reply, I just got one question for you. Who said viewers love extreme drama, always leading to breaking up the favorite couples of the fans? Not talking specifics about Shortland Street, more in general. To my mind it has never been more than the expressed wish of producers and sponsors (mostly old men with a conservative religious world view) that forced storywriters into these dramas, while the fans picked out the least bad ones and watched those only because there was nothing better available, but even in that the fans filtered out the worst parts of the drama. Perfect example GAP, where you can find 1000s upon 1000s of clips, comments, reactions and reviews of the show all over the web, but rarely any about EP.11, because that's the exaggerated drama nobody wants to see. Personally I've watched and rewatched GAP a really unhealthy amount of times, but to this day I haven't watched EP.11 at all, I knew the storyline would be like this and when the big drama set in I simply turned it off, waiting for EP.12 to come out where I worked my way backwards from the end to restart watching at the time where the big drama ended. Other viewers may have watched EP.11 once, but the fans rewatching the series will almost all have skipped EP.11 from the 2nd time on. Have you watched "Blank The Series", where the relation between romance and drama is shiftet a lot towards more romance and less drama? Have you noticed how excited the comments underneath the episodes are, including comments from Asian viewers, many of them comparing Blank to GAP and most of them agreeing Blank beats GAP by far? As I said in my long post above, in the end viewer numbers is all that counts and as we've seen over the last few years, with the upcoming of independent productions viewers no longer had to watch the least bad but had something better which led to a steep decline in viewer numbers at the big productions and that has led the big producers into a change of mind, because apparently for them money is still more important than religion. Why is the Australian series "Flunk" not getting anywhere with their popularity, having less than half a million subscribers after 5 seasons and several movies, while NineStarStudios has almost twice as many subscribers after just 2 seasons of Blank? Maybe because Flunk is an overload of drama with only very little romance in between while Blank has much more romance and much less drama?
Thank you so much for this! I didn’t know about Harper and Phil and now I’m obsessed!! I honestly hope they get together, I need this. On a side note, can you share the discord link again please? It comes up as invalid for me
Oh Harper and Phil most definitely aren’t over and I’m positive that they will get together after Harper has fully moved on. It’s clear it’s the direction the show has been moving in and even now when Phil has seemingly moved on with Villi it’s clear there is still something with Harper.

I hope not Phil saying she would accuse Harper of forcing her into a relationship and reporting her to HR is where you completely lose me. And I didn't like her before but that sealed it for me she is insane. Harper should run for the hills and that includes getting away from her husband too!!
Sorry With Shortland Street gonna be 3days a week next year i think SOME storylines will be cut down and some actor will left the show and you just said Harper and Drew are one of the longest serving in shorty....yes harper phil maybe endgame BUT i fear for their near future....(they might wont be like MaeCole couple storylines)
That could be where it's headed but I don't know, Shorty likes to shake things up, so they probably have a bold plan and I could see the end of Harper and Drew's marriage as being one of those things. At the very least I do hope because the sapphic element aside, the way the story has been built over literal years would make for amazingly consistent storytelling that is my total achillies heel. I love consistent characterization like what I'm seeing here!
@@100percentshipper i get it...these storylines are above interesting but can shorty affords lose MORE viewers??! @@vesper4199 For now I'm just waiting to see how things develop. I'll probably do another video but not for a little while and not until some serious development has happened.
@@100percentshipper what did you make of today's episode because you're the one that seems to see what the writers are doing with pharper on a deeper level. I'd love your interpretation of Harper not allowing Phil to be there for her after the hug, but more importantly when Harper was apologising to villi, the writers put in Harper turning round and nearly colliding into Phil. It was like Phil knew Harper was going to fall into her and didn't move, meanwhile Harper was afraid of the collision..
@@vesper4199 I feel like the hug was the writers letting us know that Harper and Phil are still on, even if only in the background. The almost running into each other symbolic of how, no matter which way Harper turns, Phil is there, they are destined for each other. They've been moving a lot of pieces into place with Drew's attitude, the Nicole and Drew kiss, getting Harper and Phil to a place where they have boundaries (which they reafirmed with Harper saying to Phil that she's not her problem even though Phil seemed quite ready to throw her resolve to keep her distance away in an instant) so that when it all comes tumbling down the blame will not just be just on Harper, nor will the Harphil relationship be used as the tool to end the marriage, it's just a symptom of an already failing relationship. This feels healthy to me, it means that Harper and Phil will have a fighting chance after the dust settles. I think the hour long episode on October 9th will probably involve some kind of major revelations around Harper and Drew's marriage, possibly the Nicole/Drew kiss or the Harper/Phil relationship. I expect by the end of the year the marriage will be done, it could even be part of the cliffhanger and therefore extra dramatic. I still feel confident this marriage is headed to its end.
@@100percentshipper ok,i instead prefer Phil bc Harper Is too much insicure but i love the fact She be finally honest about her feelings for phil, obsully She can't Hide her feelings for long time, but i no undestand this fact about Phil:why if She no loves villiam let a he kiss her?
Yes, Harper does indeed have a way with Nicole. Throughout, it’s always been brought up that Harper is the only one that can get through to Nicole. I am actually relieved that Nicole is distracted enough to not get mixed in to Harper and Drew’s issue. She’s always been the one that convinces Harper to stick with him even though he’s given Harper several reasons to leave. I’m doubtful that the show would actually break up one of their anchor pairings. This has always been an unhealthy marriage, and Harper does deserve better, but for some reason the show seems committed to them.
That is a good point, I have noticed how Nicole always goes in to bat for Drew. The number of times she has said 'Drew loves you' over the years, as if that is the beginning and the end of why Harper should stay with him is a lot. I do wander how much Harper has stayed because Nicole's voice plays in the back of her head. They both have a lot of influence over each other which in this particular case is not the healthiest dynamic but I also love that that has been a thread running through their friendship. They need to be apart for their respective storylines right now but I do miss seeing them being friends!
Even Harper noticed how tight Drew and Nicole have always been. As she mentioned it in the ep last year during the “patient of the week” that brought her and Nicole back together. I hope TPTB surprise us and your prediction comes true, that at least this miserable marriage will end. If we can’t have Harper and Nicole, at least give Harper someone that deserves her awesomeness :)
I really don't think this couple is end game. It's never been a good relationship to begin with. Its founded on cheating and líes. Harper is mostly a n ass towards Phil and her feelings. I personally think Phil deserves better.
Yeah this is not the show for you if you don't want cheating. I have lots of lists with TV shows and film that have happy endings and the majority don't include cheating if you take a look at my playlists, you'll find them.
@@pantheradraconis Indeed, it does feel like something of a tiresome staple in storytelling. At some point I might just make a list, thanks for the idea!
Awe you didn't mention Harper and Maeve kissing twice. Admittedly the second one was just Harper and it was for Phil's benefit. I still don't understand what breadcrumbs they were trying to leave with Harper kissing Maeve back. Was it just about her and Drew not being right for each other.
I've talked about that in my other Harper & Phil videos and I think the writes were laying ground work for the possibility of some Harper and Maeve things happening, but for whatever reason decided not to go there and to bring in Phil to break Harper and Drew up.
@@100percentshipper oh I think we talked about it on that video. I just always wanna bring it up lol. Maeve deserves better than Nic. Especially with how she's been lately. I do like the Phil & Harper's relationship too. I think I'd like to see them in the future when they don't have the stress and guilt tied up with their feelings for each other. I'd be happy with Harper and Maeve just hanging out more and being besties. Even though Harper cheated first, I don't know if her and Nic can recover from the recent betrayal if it's ever found out.
@@fifinoir Agreed, Nicole has been tough going. I think Maeve has been a saint with her. I also want to see Harper and Phil fluff, I hope we'll get there although Shorty loves to stay very dramatic. I've always had a soft spot for Haper and Nicole, so I hope they can recover from this, especially since Nicole put a categorical stop to it, but Harper was deeply hurt last time and I'm not sure she forgave Nic from the last time...
@@100percentshipper I feel like they've ruined Nicole's character. She was great when her and Maeve first got together but she's just gotten bitter and crazier (not in a sympathetic way). It's a shame they've made her character so hard to like. I hope she gets a good redemption arc after all this. With Harper, though the romance between her and Phil had been lovely to see, it's a shame she's gone down the cheating route again with Harper. I do feel like with how toxic Harper and Phil have been recently, I don't know how they get back together.
This storyline is getting old .. Harper needs to be with drew.. period .. they have a family .. Phil is a player .. notice some of the storylines drag on forever
I don't think it's romaticising the cheating, that is obviously not good and Harper is not behaving well (like most characters on the show). It's a symptoms of deeper issues that need addressing and this affair will force that with major fall out.

Harper clearly still in love with Phil and miserable without her.
So, in the end, we´re in the hands and mood of the writers and as life itself, sometimes real people stay inside their comfort zone as long as they feel safe in search of that "normality lost" that never comes back.
Very true. I think the writers are indicating where they're going but they could change their minds at any time. I have hope though!
I love the storyline bout Phil & harper I hope they get back together cos I think drew is not nice to harper and he's certainly not playing fair wit Phil at work so please keep up withe videos I'm I England united kingdom and don't get it shortland/ street
Brilliant as ever and you know Im strapped in with you on this one. Extra kudos for the reference to captain clamjam 😅❤
Hehe, I was thinking of you when I wrote that. Glad to have a buddy on this ride!
@@100percentshipper For those of us non-locals (I'm in the U.S.), please elaborate--"clamjam"? Is that like "cock-block"?
Yes it does mean that but I don't know if it's a kiwi saying, it was something we were talking about on the discord channel, so I slipped it in as a wink to those peeps
I think this one was born for Pharper. It came from the chat because cockblock did not apply but same concept 😂
I hope you are right.
Me too!
I love this analysis.
I really like Drew but i think Harper and Drew needs to end. I really enjoy Phil and Harper.
That already happened in the earthquake episode
Another thing happens to Phil again?
@@yojayoung oh i know, i am being way to fan fic like lol
@@lolamillan why not 🤣
I liked Nicole and Harper's chemistry, but this is great, and thanks for the update!
I know the tension between shipping Nicole & Harper and Harper & Phil!
Great story
Love Phil❤
Thanks for your thoughts on this! 😊
Drew sucks and I'm happy that Harper is cheating on him, him stealing the lottery winnings a while back was so bad and I've disliked him ever since!
Ohh I could listen to you talk and talk. You appease the happy ever after side of my shoulder and piss off "they're soo over" side. Lmao
I'm so glad I could help you out with that!
I love your optimism lol because to the rest of us think Harper is blowing it all up for herself
I mean she is blowing it up for herself - hopefully with Drew and once that's done, my hope is they can build Harper and Phil back up :)
Yes!!! Let’s hope
Thank you so much for sharing such a detailed analysis. How do you feel now after a month has passed and things for Pharper have changed so much?
Strap in!
Rn they are broken up. There is still glances and after this past episode with baby Drew we have hope.
Was delighted to see you uploaded your current thoughts on this pairing. I hope you're right. (Couldn't agree more about Nic too)
Someone suggested on the discord channel that Nicole is headed for a story about long term depression and I'm like - that would be amazing because she's been tough to watch lately and I feel like she's going to spiral further before things get better.
@@caggie76 I fast forward Nicole too 😆 I love Maeve... but Nicole... I just can't
Very thoughtful. Thanks.

I think she's afraid of the consequences to her family. Plus the Drew reacted at games night yesterday, yikes, he got scary!
Being with Harper will not be easy for both Harper and Phil because of the kids and the adjustments.
@100percentshipper what circumstance will make them say to each other "I love you". When can you see that happening or prompting it?

No, there are some peeps who despise her, they hang out on twitter and fb.
This storyline is getting old .. Harper needs to be with drew.. period .. they have a family .. Phil is a player .. notice some of the storylines drag on forever
Romanticizing cheating is stupid. The only reason people are drooling over this is because it’s two standard whyte women.
I don't think it's romaticising the cheating, that is obviously not good and Harper is not behaving well (like most characters on the show). It's a symptoms of deeper issues that need addressing and this affair will force that with major fall out.
No, they are not. Phil moved on & love Villy now, so it's over for Harper & Phil
OMG ... you know what this means ... if they are not ending up together ... one will die!
