Lovely painting and helpful tutorial. It was lovely to see your process and positive outlook in problem solving through the ugly stage...I call it the brave stage.

I love your videos so much I've been watching you for years. I reasentaly started using art as a coping skill. In stead of harming myself I decided to start panting plants on my door. Yesterday I was painting for 8 hours straight just focusing on painting. I'm so glad I'm creating again, thank you for helping me learn to paint for years💖!
I'm thrilled you decided to you art instead of causing harm to yourself. I hope you also find a supportive, uplifting group or few friends that can pour goodness into you. If you're hurting, that hurt only gets worse alone. You are cherished dear. Let me know if I can do anything further to help support and guide you in art.
That was so helpful. That ugly phase can really get artists! It's gotten me so many times. I decided last year that I was going to commit to every painting I started. I can't wait to apply these techniques. Also, it's so funny to me that artists are so hard on themselves. I loved the roses at the top BUT I can see where your vision came out beautifully and worked best. Thank you for sharing!
I'm rooting for you friend! I often work on 2-3 projects at a time, I don't know if that would help you. That way if I get annoyed or stuck I can work on the other project like an ant. Bite by bite, one grain of sand at a time. Then I find I can easily finish projects relatively quickly. Thank you for your kind words. It's so sweet that you liked the roses, but I try to get the painting to 70% happy, haha, meaning, I want to be at least 70% happy with it. I was at like 60% there 😂😂.
This was fascinating to see inside your creative process! I wonder how long, how many days it took you here? And if you were working on other paintings while you worked on this one? And what size brush was that!? You used the tiny brush on the swans and the sky and that surprised me. This truly turned out to be magical, and it was a good example to show and make your point!
Bonnie, you are so sweet, thank you. It took me 3-days. Not including the day of gathering the eggs. I was working on about 5 other paintings at the same time. My sweet spot is 2-3 projects at a time. I don't prefer more than that. I LOVE and cannot put down my Arteza size 1 round brush. It's kind of become a bad habit. I just can't part from it. Thank you again Bonnie. For your passion and ongoing drive to improve your art. It's so wonderful getting to know you after all this time.
What type of canvas do you use? In every video it seems so smooth 😅 I used a few where the texture was very visible and it was annoying especially when painting small details 😢
Thank you Natalia, so I really think it's the camera not giving you the full texture. These canvases have a lot of tooth. This is why many people will use Gesso, to make it more smooth and the paint adheres well to it, but you can also just paint your canvases with white paint first. I've recently fallen in love with the Master's Touch canvases and Fine touch canvases from Hobby Lobby. They only sell in Canada and the U.S. unfortunately. Hope that helps!
Glowingly warm and beautiful. Such great advice. Thank you!❤❤❤
Aww, that's such a compliment, thank you. And you're most welcome dear 🌹

Melanie, thank you so much dear. I definitely could use that name, the "Brave Stage" is equally as fitting.
