Hello Sarah. You seem to be a lovely person. I'm an 81 year old lady and it is so nice to see someone who is gentle and not full of themselves, just like a sweet oldfashioned girl. It's a pity there aren't more like you. Take care.
I so admire your determination to get it right with the fit of your jeans. It was worth the effort. I wanted to ask if you’ve ever considered making a bias cut dress. You have a lovely figure that bias in a crisper fabric like a mid weight linen would be very nice and not overly revealing.
Hello from Massachusetts! My husband's family travelled over from England this summer/fall and we had the worst weather for them unfortunately; I'm sorry you were caught in it as well! I love your channel, I've been so inspired, I'm undertaking the Heather dress at the moment and hoping it turns out as lovely as yours. I understand seasonal depression well, and appreciate videos like yours all the more because they help me get out of my own slump. Beautiful work as always, and I love your style and appreciate all of your helpful hints along the way!
Hello! I'm so flattered that my channel inspires you and thank you for your kind comment! I'm glad that the tips I share help! Yes, I've been talking about seasonal depression with friends and colleagues and it seems this exceptionally wet season has everyone feeling a bit down and I feel reassured that I'm not alone. The Heather dress is an absolute favorite cool-weather staple of mine, I hope yours turns out well!
Hi Sarah - I'm so glad your husband got to see NE USA in the autumn - you are 100% right about how magnificent it is. UUGGHH about your HC Brooks Jeans after your perfect muslin. Why why why do we not check the fit before doing the seam finishes and top stitching?? I think I make that mistake 80%+ of the time the first time I make a pattern. I appreciate your commitment to great craftsmanship; you ended up with a perfect pair of jeans (and think how easy the next pair will be in about 5 years when you make jeans again...) My only thought on your waistband if you haven't already thought of it is a curved waistband (in which the waistband is a constant width, but the top edge is shorter than the bottom edge), in my opinion it is a great solution for an hourglass figure. How smart and brave you are to recognize when you're not feeling 100% like yourself and even your favorite hobby doesn't sound possible. As you already know, sometimes it is shorter, sometimes longer, but it does pass when your heart and mind are ready. Thanks for another fun video.
I really appreciate you including everything in your videos, all the things that you had to change and honest feedback. The end result looks lovely, it gives me confidence to perhaps take this on in the future. I have only made stretch denim jeans so far. Loved the snippets of your travels. I also think a lot of us do experience seasonal depression, I know I am way more motivated to sew in the summer.
What you need is a pair of secret pants/victorian cycling pants! A pair of trousers that look like a skirt! Try vitamin D supplements during the winter, really helps with feeling down. And I love the jeans and it was great to see all of the alterations, it often feel like nobody else has these issues so it's great to see somebody else figuring out how to makw patterns work.
Secret pants would be the dream! I've been debating making a pair of culottes for years and maybe next spring/summer will be the year I try 😊 Thank you for the vitamin D recommendation to combat the winter blues and I'm glad you enjoyed following my fitting and alteration journey with these jeans!
Oh definitely do! Bernadette Banner and Rachel Maksy both have videos on them. I'm not skilled enough to make a pair YET, but they are definitely on my making list!
You did very well! It worked out beautiful ❤ thank you, I'm planning to sew my jeans sometime in the future (when I get courage enough) and I'll refer back to your video.

Ready to try this pattern again!

They turned out so well! I purchased the Dawn Jeans recently and am excited to embark on that journey! Very inspiring.
