My great grandparents came from Mexico on the Train in the early 1920’s and landed in Miami. My great grandfather was a smelter in the mines there and my grandma was born in Miami in 1928. They left to California in 1932 and all I knew about their history growing up was in California. It was amazing to go visit my grandma’s home town when I moved out here and see the street she was born on and the church she was baptized in. Thank you big super for highlighting all this little towns ♥️
You passed my parents place, my aunts, and uncles place. I’m shocked u went there. I was just there last week for two weeks. I wish I could have met u up there and given u another tour. I grew up going there my whole life. I was just window shopping all those antique shops in Miami and globe. They have great items. My grandfather worked in the mines there. They do have a bed n breakfast in there. We love playing basketball there. I used to swim in that pool. El Reys is the ultimate best Mexican food in the country! I eat there everyday when I visit and I never get sick of it. Nowhere beats them, nowhere! My uncle did the huge mural on the building by the Main Street. He also did the huge painting inside the Catholic Church. Everything looks the same from 30 years ago. Everything there is antique LOL. The dog always tries to get me when I walk by lol he’s all bark no bite. So touched by this video thank u!
I owned the building shown 3:36 next to the old shoe store from 2015 to 2019 when it burned down. I was born in Miami. Lots of great memories there. I wish the Town Council were more competent and less corrupt.
Oh and btw...your a great father in the way your always on board. Love the basketball happenin' & stuff. Cool the way your wife & kids are involved. Rock on!✊✊😊
So sorry you ended up in Chicago. Come back, we will need you when we rebuild this area! One of the Best kept secrets in AZ. About to buy some of these old buildings.
I grew up there in the 70's it was a boom town with copper. My school was full of kids. Could not find a parking spot in town and had businesses of every type all over
Hey Big Super, whenever I type in anything Arizona related your channel pops up. I moved to AZ 5 years ago today, and I haven’t seen all of Arizona and I do not know why. Shout out to you and all of your hard work. I’m a city girl from Chicago, and I’m in awe til this day when I walk outside and see the mountains. You have a new subscriber! 🌵🌞⛰🏜
My dad was the machine shop manager for Modern Industries right off the main Hwy, right near the Miami swimming pool. I went to Miami HS my 9th grade year , but lived in Globe . This was in the 80s . I left half way through my 9th grade year. To the unfortunate Texas . Shoulda Stayed in Globe . smh . We used to go under the M and hang out all the time . I bet my name is still under the sign there on top of the mountain where the Miami M is at unless they re painted it after all these years . I put it ther in 89 . lol
LMAO those meme sounds at his b-ball shots from 6:54 to 7:11 made me lol 😂 Good job, Super. I've been in AZ for 22 years and never even knew about this place. Thanks for another great vid. Keep it up, homie!
Thank you for this video, Big Super. You just might be one of the catalysts that gets Miami the exposure it desperately needs so it can come to life again. LOVE that mural, those wonderful doors and decorated doorways, all those old, derelict buildings with their own stories to tell. Miami has so much historical flow! Lovely church, too. 👍And yep, that Like is for you and Baby Girl. 👋 to the family!
I really like your videos. It really seems like Miami, AZ could benefit from a revitalization/restoration project so everything doesn't go to waste. Not to change the heart of Miami, just to keep it going :)
Super, I started a bunch of comments for this video, but got stuck. Don't know what to say about the town. Just very interesting. Looks like it was a fun trip with your peeps! I had fun!
that building being sold by owner. I use to drive to it just to look though the windows something has always called me to it. at that time i worked at Apache Gold Casino.
Don’t forget to visit and vlog Tuscon, AZ (aka The Old Pueblo)/Pima County, AZ and the very well known small historic towns of Tombstone, AZ and Bisbee, AZ in the Southeastern Arizona County of Cochise. I have spent so much time over this past year scrolling a lot of main streets, roads, and highways all around Tuscon/Pima County, AZ, and the Arizona state routes in Cochise County, AZ and in Santa Cruz County, AZ (the U.S.- Mexico border town of Nogales, AZ is in this county) on Google Maps. I have a friend who lives in Tuscon, AZ and I want to visit him there in the near future. I am so glad I have studied the far southern Arizona area in Pima County, AZ, Cochise County, AZ, and Santa Cruz County, AZ on Google Maps before I travel there for the first time. I have just recently started scrolling the highways through the Phoenix Metro Area and the streets through Phoenix Skyharbor International Airport and downtown Phoenix on Google Maps. I have scrolled I-10 from Tuscon, AZ to Phoenix, AZ. You have an excellent Arizona vlog channel. I love❤️❤️❤️it!!!
Just viewed Miami. Looks like you were there when everything was closed. Do you like it to look deserted? If you had driven up some resedential neighborhoods you could have shown some views looking down on the old downtown. I moved to Globe to retire 10 years ago.
Another great video trip down my memory lane. Gracias, amigo! A really well-done renovated hotel is in Prescott: the Hassayampa Inn. Full of period pieces AND a ghost. I'd imagine if you contact them they'd love to give you a tour. Whiskey Row in Prescott is also an interesting place.
Seems like people know you wherever you go :-) Picked up a great tune from your music bed - “Can’t Get Over You” - Brother Joseph. Good stuff - thanks!
My grandparents and my dad is from there. Grandparents in the cemetery up there . Their should be a Mexican restaurant near that court . Many memories over there . I remember my grandma goin to the salon a lot , wonder if it was the same one ?
I wonder if any of them buildings are haunted? I'd LOVE ❤ to find out! I could live there but not with kids. Love the videos Super! Awesome job! 🤜🤛 stay safe. 🤞🙏✌
Yes they have a haunted Jail and cemetery.. I live in globe it’s a town over from miami:) there’s a tv show that came here specifically for the jail being haunted you should be able to find it on TH-cam and the Buffalo soldiers in the globe cemetery people talk about it being haunted too 👌🏼
@@chifreak6 no problem hope you can come visit one day they also have great Mexican food :) and a small museum that tell about the town and old churches from 1918 and abandoned mines “dominion” you can walk through
Big Super, go check out Guadalupe, Az (it’s a super small town that surrounded by Tempe and Phoenix... be careful in there tho) and Awatukee (a town of Phoenix. It was one the creame of the crop for upscale Phx it’s on the other side of south mountain...)
the barber shop use to have a clothing shop called dough boys, guy who owned it, his mom won the lottery i think i forgot but i worked with her at the casino as well lol
@@OfficialBigSuper Good morning Super. Just picked up bad energy as you drove by certain places and it’s disappointing that Miami, AZ due to Councilman Don Reiman expressing displeasure at proclaiming February Black History Month tabled it. I’m flying back in this Sunday, and hope to hook up with you and your wife. Had to fly back to NH due to an emergency. Talk soon and keep up the good work.

Miami Arizona is clearly still living in the age of the wild wild West from the very late 1800's. You gotta love it man
