    I really appreciate that you don’t use any background music, sound effects or flashy editing. I don’t usually watch makeup tutorials with the intention of actually recreating them but to unwind and relax and be entertained after a stressful day. (I think many others are like me so your channel is perfect!)

      Yaaaas! Gals, I hate all the background music & sound effects in some ppls videos. Like, I appreciate their "editing skills" & understand they want to show off in that area, as well as a tutorial, but some ppl may be trying to sneak watch at work lol & that's too much noise. Lol. Anyway, I love zabrena for a lot of reasons. Zabrena, if you happen to read this, "HELLO GORGEOUS" we love YA. Keep being you, girl!! 😊❤

    The liner technique reminds me on a Wayne Goss technique where he uses the lower lash line to connect the wing of the top lash line and then basically does the same thing, adds transition shade up and light shimmer on the inner lid. They only difference is he connects the lower line to the upper line. If you look up his video, it explains it a lot better, thoroughly.

    people forget that certain looks need tweeking because of eyeshape/skin colour . Its not wrong to prefer finger or brushes . By trying out different things and tweeking them you will find what works for you xx

    Simply gorgeous, Zabrena! I think the black shadow was just too deep for your fair skin & red hair. The final look was gorgeous! 💜

    Glad you showed the "this-isn't-working-for-me" part of it because it is something we don't always consider when watching tutorials I think. The changes you made for your skin tone were perfect! PS - Sooooooo excited for new Inky Minkies! For those reading this who haven't tried Zabrena's lash line, go for it, they are WONDERFUL! Hands down my favorites.

    With my ultra-dry lips, I could not put foundation on them. I also don't care for over lining. I love the eye look though!❤️

    I have hooded eyes that are a similar shape to yours and I’ve noticed that my eyeshadow and wings look more like her original eye look when I bring the wing lower at a more outward angle than an upward angle. Might be something to try! It works for me 🤷🏻‍♀️😊

    • @munmunwinchester
      @munmunwinchester 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly wat i thought too. D angle of the eyeliner dats making it looked weird, not d black shadow though.

      Yep, same here, haven't tried this exact technic but I usually do something similar and the key for me is the angle of the wing, I have very hooded eyes and it's kinda tricky

    Scott Barns does the contour on the upper and lower lips to make them look fuller. I'm a little older and can't really pull off the winged liner, but think I might try this but not go out so far with the liner. Thank you for showing the use of the different brushes. I also have difficulty using my fingers in the inner corners! Love your video's girlie!

  • @dreamof_me

    This technique reminds me a bit of the “fox eye” makeup that had been going around. When Taylor Wynn did the wing, she made most of the darkness closer to the lashline than out with the wing. I personally have rather small almond eyes so I can’t use black like that unless I make a very tiny thin line. I really love the tweaks you made to suit your skintone and collection. That UD glitter is a must, they still sell it but repackaged. It’s very glittery but in a wet looking way. I really appreciate you showing us these different techniques. It really makes me want to find new ways to use what I have

  • @ivechang6720
    @ivechang6720 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you Z! I recently did a gray eye look and wasn't sure about it. So I did a few pics along the way. I later cropped and set them next to each other and I got a different perspective. So useful for deciding which technique or angle worked and which ones didn't. I know people show their finished product but tutorials are what gets me using what i already have. That's better for my budget and the planet so "Winner!Winner! Chixen dinner!"♡♡♡♡♡♡

    I use my finger when using shimmers/glitters. I haven't figured out how to do it without tons of fallout

    • @brianaschino4903
      @brianaschino4903 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Spray your finger or brush with setting spray or water snd you shouldn’t have fall out once you pat it on your 👁

    • @heathermullins3620
      @heathermullins3620 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I always spray my brush with setting spray before getting the shadow on my brush then spray a tiny bit more after I get it on my brush. It makes my shimmers/glitters glide on and look so much more metallic. And it does cut the fall out way way down. I still do get some fall out with certain shadows. I like doing this way better than my finger, The way the shadows look and less fall out. But again I still do get some fall out here n there.

    I've been using WnW creme brule for years after I first saw you talk about it. I'm very intimidated by winged liner so I really want to try this technique out.

    • @elizabethann5308
      @elizabethann5308 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The best part of this technique is you can make the wing as small and light as you need. It will be impactful as long as the outer edge is clean underneath.

    • @CrocHudson
      @CrocHudson 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're right. Sultry doesn't have that deep mulberry. Both amazing palettes though and that w&w dupe for Soft Glam is surprisingly good for the price isn't it? I'm so glad she rates those w&w palettes. It's nice to see them pop up from time to time ❤️

    • @erinderooy3472
      @erinderooy3472 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't seen a WNW dupe for Sultry. Revolution have one but I haven't tried it. Whenever someone uses Soft Glam or My Glamour Squad I love the looks they create, but WNW has only just launched in Australia where I live and we have a woefully small selection of products which sadly does not include that palette.

    Have you ever thought about revisiting these "tried *blank* techniques" but adapting them to work on your eye/face/etc. shape and/or preferences. Or even doing a split face of original vs "for me".
    LOL I just finished writing ^ that when you started the eyeshadow over and made it "for you". 😄

  • @ballerinaboy1
    @ballerinaboy1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Zabrena! One trick that works for me to clean up a wing is to actually use a little bit of eyeshadow primer on a q tip! It acts like an eraser and that way it won’t mess up your foundation or concealer the way using a wipe would. ❤️💕 also I feel like the black eyeshadow she used in the tiktok may have been less pigmented and maybe the brush she used wasn’t as stiff? I feel like the MAC eyeliner brushes apply more product than other brushes

  • @Patti-1962
    @Patti-1962 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I loved the fact that you showed us a look you had to wash off and apply differently. As I have aged, I have definitely lost fullness in my lips.... so I might just try overlining my lips just a bit, and following the steps. TBH, I don't know that I would take the time right now, but for a special occasion it would be nice!

    This look turned out fabulously. I need to figure out how to get over my "fear" of false lashes! I guess I'm afraid I won't be able to "pull them off," so to speak. The ones you used today look lovely and quite natural as well. Also, I loved the bloopers at the end!! Have a blessed day 🦋

      Lash glue isn't solid, it's short of soft . Try a bit on the back of your hand and let it dry. Taking them off is not scary .

  • @vanessagerman1711
    @vanessagerman1711 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I think the eye look is worth a try. I'm not a fan of the lip idea. This technique isn't wearable. Its fine for a selfie or a photo shoot, but there's no way to maintain this look for a few hours or all day wear. Especially with the strategic gloss highlight. It's going to wear off really quickly where that gloss is applied. Thanks for sharing it though!

    As far as I can see it, the mistake was not in the colour, but in the technique. The tik-tok girl did smoked eyeliner in foxy-eyes tech. It demands the liner to be super light. Than the black would go well 🖤

  • @kat1york
    @kat1york 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I like how your final look turned out Zabrena. 💕
    You have to take into consideration that, "like you said" she used a much softer black"and her angled wing brush, "bristles" are thicker than the brush you used.
    She also continued using that one brush, keeping the shadow off of her lids.
    In the end I enjoyed both of your looks. 🥰💯
    I'm going to try this technique but tweek it to my liking. Hee hee ...😜

    As I was watching this at the beginning I thought "Oh there's no way I would wear that with my fair skin, it's too dark, what would it look like with just brown". Lo and behold, Zabrena changes it up with the brown! Hah! It looked great in the video though. I like the finished look with the lips, but I agree, too many steps. Maybe because I'm always eating lol, I'm forever reapplying lip products and there's no way I'm putting that much effort in every time.

    i rarely see ANYONE that looks good with their lips overlined, especially on the top lip. its just too obvious where the natural lip line is and often looks like someone got into mommy's makeup (as did the tiktok model, your's was not bad, as it was not as much outside as hers was). i've always had thin lips and as i've aged, they are now getting thinner (yay aging! lol). i just look ridiculous when out outline outside the lip.

    I have a... technique, I guess, for the overlining of the lips and that is to overline parts of your lips and "underline" other parts. Let me explain, LoL. So I'll VERY slightly overline the middle part of my bottom lip and when I'm lining the sides, I'll sort of line INSIDE the lipline a bit so that the middle part of my bottom lip looks fuller. I do the same to my upper lip, I very slightly overline the middle part of my upper lip and when I get to the sides, I'll line INSIDE the lipline too. Then I just put on a bit of my favorite lipstick, i don't do the lipgloss though. It gives this pouty effect to the lips. I definitely don't do this all the time because it's time consuming but every now and then.

    Off topic...have you ever used or has the company "How To Be A Redhead" ever reached out to you? I just ordered one of their seasonal boxes.
