I was 22 , it was Nov.’68 and I was just starting my two year enlistment in the US army in Fort Lewis , Washington.I remember listening to this song and wanting to cry because it’s a sad song and also the situation I was in.

I remember seeing them in concert back in 1979. When he did this song, Barry and Maurice left the stage and the lighting was reduced to a single blue spotlight. Combine that with his silver jogging suit and flaming red hair......one of the most amazing performances I've ever seen.

I’m pretty sure it’s not because of the song but the video is definitely not the best. This is one of my favorite songs and in my personal opinion de video is terrible… of course I would never dislike the video because I just don’t do that and because I love the song, but that’s just me.

So much raw emotion in his voice. It really is amazing that he doesn't cry while singing it.
RIP Robin Gibb. You were undisputedly one of the greatest singing artists of all time.
My mom was a huge Bee Gees fan and loved all three of them, but Robin was definitely her favorite. I never really knew why but as I have gotten older and am able to better appreciate music, I now see why. I think Barry has one of the best falsettos and vibratos of all time, but Robin just has some special quality to his voice that you can't really put a finger on, you just feel it.
I can't stop devouring this song... and that since about 50 years .. It's an angel song. ❤

This 1968 Bee Gees hit came at the right moment for my dad for he was going through the most difficult years of his life as a Heartbroken man who resorted to drinking in 1969 onward till 1984 but was too late and died of Cirrhosis of the liver to heavy drinking in 1988. But his heart was mended in 1984 which was so inspiring and he confessed that God gave the cure with these hits of the Bee Gees as one of the handful groups in the world.
So I respect and honor Bee Gees for the 6 Decades of ministering to Souls devastated by Heartbreak since their formation of 1958. The Multi-Million or Billion people owe their life to the healing their hits have to their shattered decimated heart to smithereens by broken-heart but they were the God Divine Healer as an Anti-Venom and Anti-Dote to their Tragedy of Tragic Heartbreak.
The Bee Gees songs were part of my dads 1950s-1970s collections for they were part of his 1900s-1980s songs collections that were Anti-Venom & Anti-Dote to his Heartbreaks in 1944, 1950, 1959, 1966 & 1973. So he taught me that Love songs both gospel and secular are God Divine cure to all Heartbreaks and never believe in the hypocrisy by most Christians that secular love songs are evil. He was a former Choir Conductor for the Fiji School of Medicine Methodist Chapel of Doctors & Nurses both working and studying between 1953-1960. So I was blessed to believe in it for it cured my Heartbreak in 1976-7, 1980, 1987, 1994, 2008, 2010, 2015, 2018 till today especially with this 1968 hit.
Love and Thanks to all the worlds groups and artists for their God given talent in giving us Heartbroken individuals of the world from 1900s till end of the earth, if not for them we would have died from its death bites but their hits were our savior and healer, especially Bee Gees hits whom I have witnessed as it healed my dad's broken-heart and later on mine as well. I am always a One Woman Man till death and that is my uniqueness but also my vulnerability, but would never exchange it with nothing still Love and Thanks from your coconut crazy fan from the Edges of the Sand Dunes of Fiji.

You can’t get a trio the same as the Bee Gees. Robin had a good range of vocals and sadly lost his cancer battle around the same time as Donna Summer, Barry is the only surviving Bee Gee.

My late wife loved Robin's voice, I can see why. The Bee Gees wrote some great songs. We used to listen to them a lot.
I was one year old when this came out...didn't start appreciating The Bee Gees until Grease came out..I then started listening to all their stuff...amazing group of brothers and now there is only one left...super talented and missed❤

Between early childhood to my early 20's I went through depression, particularly when I was a little kid and I was bullied both physically and mentally, and this song didn't help matters, as I would have moments alone thinking "if l were to die, would anyone notice? Would it matter?" Each time I heard this song, the lyrics connected to me in ways that made me feel alone, isolated, and worthless. But instead of giving up and leaving, I was reminded of how much my 'family' loved me, and realized that if the world truly didn't care about me, then the world would have to be the ones to take me out of it. For me, songs like this one act as a reminder of how cruel the world can be, only they aren't who I live for. I live for my family, my friends, and for me.
