I am a full time touring and session Drummer having been fortunate enough to have played with many stars from the 50's and 60's. I love these young players their sound, their dedication to Soul and of course yet another in a long line of incredible groups supported and guided by the amazing folks at Daptone. Just incredible Daptone saved music in my opinion I thought I was stuck forever with the brutally poor quality of so called R n B that had been spilling out for the last thirty years Daptone you saved the world!
i supported the dap kings once and when we were coming in to soundcheck after them we could hear this awful sound. walked in and they were all playing each other's instruments.
Im 56 years young and from east los angeles❤ you got the sound i was raised on by my parents❤ not necessarily with this song but definitely most the rest❤❤
Hot Danm this is my new favorite bands! Saw these guys at Red Butte, with Los Lonely Boys and they killed it… pour me a glass of wine I’m feeling fine with the soul coming from these guys!
Están bien perros Alton’s......the ups and downs on the tempos, the melodies, the tones on your songs, the groove you put on each one of your songs....you are amazing!!! I am your Fan....see you in Yuma again!!!!
🔥 🔥 much love Always love seeing them live and they all show nothing but love and respect, much love to Bryan, Joey, Adriana, and Caitlyn (hope I spelled it right) 🥀🖊🎶🎶🎶🫡
Can anyone fill me in on what's the deal with the Altons, Thee Sinseers etc? I seem to notice Joey Quinones jumping around these bands or even more. Is he like the producer or musical director for these bands? Or are they just a tight knit community? Anyway, just a very awesome time for music with all these neo-oldies popping up. Some of the songs from these two bands as well as other bands like Durand Jones and Sacred Souls are at par if not besting the classics of the 50s etc.
"Tight knit community" is a very good adjective for these young folks. beholding them live for the first time last week in STAX Museum, Studio A, Memphis, I believe I heard one of the bandmates referr to Thee Sinceers and associate bands as 'a collective.' Now after more exposure and listening to Thee Sinceers and The Altons, I think that is a very good descriptor as well. They are most certainly collaborative. And why they fit like a glove inside STAX Studios, exactly the elements of what that great label was built on. XoX AKA DJ VidaLee, Memphis, former Greater SF Bay Area
