    I don't understand why you don't take off your bet once you've established your game point.. in Vegas they make you move your bet off and place it to another number once the box number is been established.

      They don’t make you, they ask you as they assume you have bet covered with line bet.

    A fellow like BT seems to be able to have long throws on a consistent basis. For me, by the time I press up a 7 comes along. Maybe it's a better strategy to bite the bullet, put 25 across except 24 on the 6 and 8, roll 3 times max and take your winnings without pressing. Then turn all your bets off except the pass line and then roll till you 7 out.

    Good videos, was wondering if you could try a low risk strategy, you place bet the 5 and 9 for $10 each, and if one hits you parlay the $24 to the 6 or 8 then bet $5 on that hard way. Then repeat

    Well while I know it won't really matter on the table your on because there no real money involved and there are no players involved. And while it is possible other casinos may have thier own rules but I know where I work the smallest domination $1 chips is gonna be on the side closet to the players and the highest domination in this case $25 dollar chips is gonna be closest to the box person plus having the chips in that order might make it easier to be a bit faster in your setting up your bets and paying out

    I like this aggressive strategy. Just played it today in AC. I press all the numbers when they hit once and when it hits again, I take. After 2 takes on the numbers, it’s your money back. Everything else is profit. Risked only $100 and I had a hot shooter. Ran it to $233. Not bad at all. I slightly deviated from the strategy and played the pass and had all the money on the numbers. Made sure if one of my bets paid, I put it on the odds and let it play out. Of course, you can go broke in just a few rolls but I can dig it. I must thank you good sir!

    what does it mean to "buy" the 10? If I had to guess from my limited experience, it means that instead of a place bet that gets paid worse odds, "buying" it makes the bet non-retractable (ie, its out there til the shooter 7's out), and it will be paid true odds, just as if it were a come bet that traveled to the 10?

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good guess, you do get paid true odds, but it can still be removed anytime. The drawback is you have to pay a 5% vig on the bet. It’s still a better bet than place bet on the 4/10. I have a whole video on buy bets, check it out

    • @jimklemens5018
      @jimklemens5018 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A Buy bet is still a Place bet and can be taken down whenever you feel like it.

    I'm thinking a bit more conservative modification for this is once you hit your Break Even payout, take all your presses down to either 1 or 2 units (which ever you are playing) then building up again from there. That way, if the 7 does come out shortly after, then you would have a bit more profit. if not, then follow your press strategy again.

    awesome videos. i’m new to this craps game, so i appreciate all the help. once you bring the 9 and/or 5 up to $25, what do you press it up to? do you press the full $35 or just match the $25 that’s on it?

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Completely up to you. I would "press to 50" and at least collect $10. The nice thing about that is your numbers are always nice round numbers. $25 - $50- $100

    • @jimklemens5018
      @jimklemens5018 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I typically play $110 inside ($25 on the 5, $30 on the 6, $30 on the 8, and $25 on the 9.
      I will collect the first two hits. ($35 each)
      Then I will full press the next two hits.
      Collect the next hit.
      Full press the next one or two hits.
      When I get up to around a $300 bet on the 6 or 8, I will regress it back down to $60.
      When my bets on the 5 or 9 get up to $150 or $200, I will regress to $50.
      I got greedy when I was in Las Vegas last month and had $150 on the 5, $300 on the 6, $300 on the 8, $150 on the 9, and $100 on the 10. Next roll was 7 and I lost it all.
      I still made around $800 on that hand, but I should have regressed and made $780 more.

      @@jimklemens5018 congrats on hanging in there.... I would have hung in there for one more roll also but I would have insured it by hopping or protecting the sevens for 50 to $100 which would have provided $200 to $400 of protection for one more roll to give yourself a chance at hitting another $150 or 300.... On higher amounts I think hedging for one additional roll would be worth it and I'm surprised more people don't consider this.

  • @paulleidig6095

    I like the way you press up the bet after the first hit. I would suggest taking down the place bet after the second hit. That will lock in profits from the first hit, and preserve your initial bet. You will see profits significantly increase. The only down side to this is you are not in a position to benefit from the hot shooter.

    Knowing my luck, the shooter will 7 out immediately after I put that $64 down. It's happened to me quite a few times including one night every other roll was a 7 (point>7 out>point>7out) for I kid you not, 5 shooters in a row. I started winning after the second shooter by just betting double my pass line bet on the Come. The one who really made off like a bandit was this one guy who started playing the 5to1 Seven, needless to say he was pleased with himself.

    I'm just learning and have a question, forgive my incorrect lingo. Online games of craps (bovada) seem to assume that if you have your chips on the place for a number (say 8 place line) and the established number is hit and the game resets. If you leave the money there and a 7 comes out they'll take your money.
    You always leave it on and when a 7 hits before a number is established you don't lose all of your pass bets on the numbers.
    How? Is it assumed in a casino they are out of play when a new game is starting?

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The pass line bet you would not lose, but win on a 7 for the first roll of a new game. I think you are referring to "place bets" that are bets directly on the number. It is traditional in MOST casinos that when the puck is off that those bets are also off. Some casinos may have different rules and it sounds like that is the case for the online casino.

  • @howellwong11
    @howellwong11 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    The best strategy is to find a $2 minimum table with 20X odds . Play only the PASS line with minimum bet and maximum odds. If you got the money, a $5 minimum table will do almost as well. The odds to win will be almost 50/50 with the house having only a slight edge. The only better odds requires skill and practice in throwing the dice, but the house will be watching. Knowing when to quit is important too.

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Almost, but if you are referring to the mathematically best way to play it would be the Don’t pass with max odds, slightly better than the Pass.

    • @howellwong11
      @howellwong11 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Das tru, and of course, you need more money for odds, when you are betting against the roll.

    I know that it’s not really the way it was intended but if you hit on a couple of the numbers I would take down my bets or just call them off and avoid the the 7 out. And then just start over. It might take longer but I think you’d do better in the long run. But that’s just me. I don’t think I could do this just because the initial bet is just to aggressive for me. I’m a way more conservative of a player. Obviously, it depends on how the dice are rolling but as we all know, there are no guarantees.

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @ColorUp  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lord Carnage how do you know when 7 is coming to time it right and turn off bets? you can roll numbers, and as soon as turn bets back on, 7 out, so not sure it makes a difference

    • @lordcarnage5199
      @lordcarnage5199 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Like beat the casino with 12 dollars segment (6:24) you made point ready for shooter. Point is 4, the first roll out hits that 7. I normally turn off the bet after the second roll

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lord Carnage that’s fine if you like to do that, it’s a little superstitious, because the 7 can roll on 3rd roll just as easy as 2nd, but if you feel like you get beat by a point then 7 out, it certainly doesn’t hurt to turn bets off...any time your bets are off you are not losing and that’s a good thing :)

Seeing as I only get to play once every 3 years or so I am wanting to play aggressively and hope I get some luck. I am thinking about adding a pass bet with 3X odds. Making the initial hit $104 per roll. The real question is would you still place the number of the point ? From the point of view of trying to repeat numbers surely you would ?
    Cheers

    • @jimklemens5018
      @jimklemens5018 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are making a Pass line bet, there is no reason to also make a Place bet on the point.
      Actually, if you have a very strong feeling that you are going to roll the point, and are maxed out on your Odds bet, you could also make a Place bet on the point to get a double hit.

Out of all of us at the table one guy was the only one pressing hard and he had started with 10 on the inside and time it was over he had 500 to 600 on each number . Shooter hit fire bet and he had over 13 grand. Go to the poker room for a few hours and come back that same dude gave it all back except for 200 dollars. He looked sick. Its all about being at a table where someone starts rolling numbers. I watched a man create a small bankroll betting don't pass, and don't come. You have to lay odds but it's the lowest percentage for the house. Every other bet the house gets big odds. The only games that are worth your time is black jack and craps. In black jack you have to be able to count cards and Vegas isn't stupid the dealers and pit bosses know if you're a card counter and ask you to leave. So that leaves you with the crap table.

      Yes, the past results hurt sometimes while your licking your paws from a losing battle, lol. 😊
      If you encounter choppiness like this again, perhaps you can resort to Odds Betting or playing the last result with basic line betting (Do or Don’t), man, I love the Don’t! But I sure like the Do’s too! 😁
      I’m working on studying a procedure for choppy play since it’s prevalent probably 70% of the time. It involves Russel Hunter’s Super Craps. There’s some great shuffling of play that will be fun to exploit during breaks from my usual patterns of play :) the rules are very strict and takes some focused play to play correctly as intended by the author. Also, Aw Craps app on the Ap Store is excellent for practice! You should get it if you don’t have it!
      Curious Smiley, what was your trip bankroll (BR)? What were your session buy ins? Did you stick to your loss limits? Did you hit any win limits on sessions? If so, did you play back the winnings? Sounds like you may have, which is easy to do :) Just curious if your loss of $350 was within your trip/session loss of 30-40%? Which would’ve put your trip BR around $1000, which would be consider a normal fluctuation.
      It’s hard when you travel to a local Casino, what’s the fun in leaving after you’ve hit your session win limit after one session, lol.
      My biggest earning one year in Vegas for $2,900, was I played to the first loss after every table’s win limit (I.e., bought in for $200, colored up after gaining $80-90 winnings. Going from table to table, casino to casino doing this. I strictly played the Don’t. Didn’t bet until after I witnessed two 7’s, didn’t bet against a shooter after losing against them, and set loss and win limits to each session. I’m not superstitious, the 7’s rule and shooter rule is just a money management system I created. This allowed me to sit out play which saves my BR while extending my play. Yes, I sat out on some seriously long ass rolls! Couldn’t believe it actually! I’ll never forget playing against two shooters who made $5,000 in 2 hrs at The Excalibur while I played my measly $5 Don’t backed with $30 Odds. Ugh, I wished I knew to play with them back then, but heck, I had an amazing trip...my best trip ever actually.
      Anyway, take care and good luck 😉 hope you catch a good session soon! :)

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brad the man what’s a good roller? Seems like you can’t define that until after his roll is over.

    • @bradtheman2862
      @bradtheman2862 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ColorUp well my personal definition of a high roller/good roller is someone who can constantly roll sevens or more rolls of the dice before hitting the dreadful Seven out. On average most players can roll the dice four to five times before Seven comes out. Now Color up don't get me wrong you do have good strategies but you must also make sure the table is a hot table and not a cold table. So waiting it out is my recommendation before placing such bets. I'm not bashing this style play I'm just saying some one who makes these bets with rollers who gets Sevens pretty quickly or on average will lose their bankroll quick. Just food for thought.

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Brad the man yes you need a warm/hot table for most strategies to work. My point is you can’t tell until after the fact. If I could wait for a table to become hot then start betting and it stay hot, I would be rich. This game would be so easy. Problem is no one knows when hot turns cold or vise versa

    @Marc030320 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I like playing a variant of this: 5, 6 & 8 placed, with a field bet. Field bet a unit equal to the numbers lowest. So basically you have all the numbers covered except the 7, and only lay out $44 instead of $64. On a 5, 6, 8 you win a little less ($4), but you can press on a 2 or 12 (with double and triple odds pay) pretty easy (you get $20-30, so you can press one unit on each and still take $3 win). All the other numbers become "wins." You need to press up and hit the 5,6,8 or the field (unpressed) 11 times to break even. Which is not ideal with a StS of 6 or 7. I use it if I am shooting and hit a 5,6,8 point (my StS is usually 10+). Anyway, after you press 1 unit you take $14 win on 5,6,8. That makes breaking even a 3 number proposition. Great for high/low rollers whom you wouldn't otherwise make a penny off of with a 6/8 place strategy. I call it a modified Iron Cross, as you only bet if you hit 5,6,8 when you are shooting, and don't place on other numbers (just take your full odds, which is the best you can do at that point).
