Perfect timing , I’ve been looking at new sights for the past week and think I’ll go with this one. Also Iam new archer and you’ve been my best friend thru this and I appreciate all the work and information you put out for us .
I put this on my bow 6 months ago, I have run heaps of different sight,. Love, love the black gold.. I got a 5 pin and ended up pulling a pin out and run 4 pin. With a 26.5 DL , 520 GR arrow @ 70 IBS, I can hit 120 yards. ( Just ).. I run at 80 on the range 90% of the time.. Sight is friggin bomb proof..
Nice site but unless you have a chronograph you will have to be shop reliant , if you change arrows or poundage you will have to have find arrow speed instead of just sighting them in again I think the Hha has changeable wheels with tape on them so you can run two different arrows
Yep I didnt realize this until i already had it on my bow. My local pro shop doesn't have a chronograph go figure. So now i have to go find one which is disappointing but other then sum extra running around it seems like a very nice site!
Can those red arrows on the adjustment bar be moved manually? I had my shop install this sight. But wanted a 5 pin they just took a 5 pin housing off the rush sight and put on but now watching this my second red arrow will only work on the third pin rather than my bottom 5 pin. Which is what I want.
Much appreciate the breakdown and content. Do you recommend running the sight bar all the way up and then zero your pins? I leveled my sight bar with the frame and zeroed from there. I just wasn’t sure what was best for adjustability for distance.
@@archerdad1 I should have guessed with the Hulk thumbnail haha. I've been great man. Pops is doing well too! Had a couple minor health issues thenlast couple years but thats to be expected when you're 70. Doesn't even sound right to say he's 70 haha. How's life? Where are you living these days?
@@InsideOutPrecision I know the drill. I'm 62 and have had my share of the health BS! I'm up in the county north of Bellingham, WA and loving it up here. Been here since 2016. Curious....I was about to buy a 2-pin Spott Hogg Fast Eddie XL but am considering the 3-in Ascent Verdict - for whitetail. Where you at on those offerings as of 3/3/2021 ?
Does the Windage bar interfere with the scope ring and the sight picture? I wanted to try black gold but dont want a big black square cutting into the yellow circle on the scope.
@@InsideOutPrecision I dont shoot a black gold sight. I'm asking about the rectangular bar and if it cuts the yellow scope ring. It looks like it protrudes in all of the pictures i've seen but ive never looked at one through a peep.
I shoot a fast eddie double pin but have been thinking about switching to a 3 pin slider. I'm liking this one and the new axcel landslyde because of the dual indicators but the axcel is super expensive. So I might give the mountain light a try.
I have the mountain lite and a 3/16 peep. With a 28.5 draw length and the sight is still floating in my peep, what should I do to fix this? I have the sight mounted in the closest position it will go on my v3 31
The tapes only go to 248fps? I’m running a super heavy setup I want to test. No way of getting a tape that goes to 236/237 FPS? I’m planning on running a 650grain arrow to do some tests. Most of my shots are within 40 yards. I primarily hunt in the Midwest. Thanks
Has to be the ascent verdict assassin. It has micro on everything but pins which you move from the adjustment screw soo I think the assassin is the beat bang for buck
They're great sights but limit the distance I can personally shoot. I can only get out to about 90 yes, even with the big housing. That just me though, we sell them and most people love them
I still don't understand how the double indicator works for 3d shoots. If you set your pins for 20-30-40 , then your tape starts at 40, so how do you know where say 27 or 32 yards is on the tape. Would you move the indicators to 25 and 35 yards and still have to pin gap? I like this idea a lot and I really want to invest in this sight, I just still don't understand how this works exactly. Can you do a set up and a sight in video for the sight? Keep up the great work, thanks a lot!
All of the actual tapes that come with it start at 20 yards. So for the example he gave using the bottom pin as your slider to get the most range out of the sight a single indicator would only be able to start at 40 yards. With the second indicator you can use the top pin as a slider as well from 20 to 40 yards. So the top indicator would be used with the top pin from 20 to 40 and the bottom indicator would be used with the bottom pin from 40 and beyond. With the second indicator you can now use the whole sight tape in single yard increments. Hope that makes sense.
Way way way too much going on for Real life Hunting situation In my honest opinion🤔. Option site has nailed it! 5 or 8 fixed if you don't wanna use them you open up the outside site bar, there out of the way and you use the floater....... Aim, shoot, kill👊
I've never had an issue in a "real life hunting situation". You have fixed pins just like the Option, and the ability to adjust. I like the Option sights a lot though. I just can't get the range out if it that I want. Obviously I'd never shoot at an animal at over 100yds, but I like practicing at distance

Been running mine for about 3 months now and love it. Ascent Mountain Lite 3 pin fantastic another home run by Black Gold(25/40/50 pins G/R/G)
Thanks again for the time on the phone today, man! Really looking forward to getting this setup - these videos have been great.
I always add 6 fps to actual bow speed and seems to work great

Just put a blank tape on there and mark your yardage. Match it up with the nice preprinted ones and you are good to go.
@@jaysdub Yes I just take a pencil and mark it on the aluminum. It's easy to mark it up and then erase.
I have the mountain 3 pin sight it's great..would like the micro adjustment but otherwise love it
I believe they dont do the Micro to keep weight down
If you want you can customize it on their website with the micro adjust head.
That is true call up BG they can configure however you want

Yeah you should be able to flip flop them and get them far enough part for a 5 pin
@@InsideOutPrecision ok that’s what I was thinking I’ll give it a shot thanks for the reply!
This sight sounds great. Best of both worlds between multi pin and single pin
Having just ordered a Fast Eddie 3-pin, this review hurts my feelings because i now wish i had this sight instead haha
What about setting it at 20,40,60 with that travel room
Another great review. Planning on switching to a Black Gold site this year
Big fan of using my 3rd and bottom pin for hunting and recreational 3D. shooting indicators would seem to be a nice addition

I have a 3 pin mountain lite on my mathews tactic, its great i think i will eventualy get 1 extra pin though
I’m shooting the exact set up I’m very happy with my set up👍

No not at all,
didn't listen to the end ...sorry do you still use the fast eddie
Black gold mountain lite, Axcel accuhunter, Option 4, or HHA 4 pin - must only choose one. Opinion?
Black Gold
I just got the pro with out a dovetail. It was 329. All most 1pp dollars cheaper with it. It still sticks out there pretty far.

Youd just have to make your own Mark's on piece of paper or tape and laminate it.
Thanks, very time consuming to make all those marks, but I get to shoot a lot....I’ll probably just make marks up to 60 yards.
Do you have a link I can use to get you the credit, I'm def getting this sight!

who makes that send it shirt in the background?
Its one of the shops shirts. You can get them at thebowrack.com

what is the weight savings on the Mountain lite vs the standard ascent 3 pin slider?
Not much, only about 2 oz.
