    Also worth noting: the phytoestrogens in soy have a much weaker interaction with the body than animal estrogen, somewhere on the order of 1/1000th. Also also worth noting: cow's milk, a product which is pretty universally embraced by the beefcake community, contains pretty significant amount of animal estrogen.

    • @RedGuy-pt8lm
      @RedGuy-pt8lm 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +26

      It's not true except about soy having a weaker interaction with the body than that of animal estrogen
      Cow's milk does contain small amounts of naturally occurring estrogen, but the levels are considered to be minimal and not of significant concern. The estrogen present in cow's milk comes from lactating cows, as milk production is associated with increased estrogen levels in the animal's body.
      It is important to note that the type of estrogen found in cow's milk is different from human estrogen, and its effects on the human body are not fully understood. The amount of estrogen in cow's milk is generally considered to be within safe limits and is regulated by food safety authorities in most countries.
      It's worth mentioning that the estrogen levels in cow's milk are generally lower than the levels of phytoestrogens (plant-based estrogens) found in soy milk and other soy-based products. Phytoestrogens can have estrogenic effects in the body, but their overall impact on human health is still a subject of ongoing research.
      If you have specific concerns about hormones, estrogen, or milk consumption, it is advisable to consult a healthcare professional who can provide you with accurate and personalized information based on your individual health circumstances.

Apart from being made from cheaper food it also tastes way worse than whey and it also merges with liquids pretty shitty compared to whey so it's just not a quality people would pay a lot of money for when there's a pretty good alternative. The only scenario would be if veganism became so extremely widespread that everybody would want to drink soy protein so they'd pay whatever money they're offered for.

Isoflavones can bind to estrogen receptors, but seems to have like 1/5th of the effect of the most common human estrogen. The review found both a study that found no correlation between isoflavone consumption and androgen levels and one that found high isoflavone consumption lowered the amount of free androgens (in men). That seems about as inconclusive as you can get to me, and as mike said in the video estrogens also have anabolic effects.

      Some still bind to and agonize estrogen receptors, potentially inducing estrogenic effects depending on the potency. But the bind and potency is usually much less than estrogens themselves and it may even block estrogen binding, so the effects are severely overexaggerated.

    The phytoestrogens in soy milk have very low efficacy (weak effect at receptor). Some phytoestrogens have such low efficacy that all they do is block the receptor site from being activated by actual estrogen (known as competitive antagonism). As a result, some components in soy are anti-estrogenic. On the other hand, Cow's milk contains actual mammalian estrogen which is feminising.

    The avoidance of soy products isn’t because “soy bad bro!” , it’s because nobody can really tell when they’ve consumed enough to put them into the excessive range (over what we naturally have). At least not without blood work done.

      dude, we have seen that soy impact fertility in women. it objectively affects your hormonal balance. Of course this is just in cases where people eat it everyday. if you eat soy every other day that's completely fine and it's usually the studies that are shown. But extreme intake of soy has been linked to thyroid cancer and to hormonal imbalances in men. Just search "Sharla in Japan" on youtube. She is a youtuber that was vegan and ate soy everyday, she loved it. She got thyroid cancer a few years ago and doctors in japan recommended her to stop consuming soy products. She is now not vegan anymore. High consumption of Soy doesn't make you lose a tone of gains, but it does affect the overall balance of your hormones which affects your health and theoretically it can make you plateau more in your muscle gain.

    Maybe one day I'll be vegan, if that happens, soy will be better than no soy?

    Alternatively: soy sauce, miso, natto, and tofu are all also soy based and can make some really damn good foods if you don't like other soy products

    Made some serious gains on merely pea and soy protein so I was really confused by the start.

    The estrogens in soy protein are so insignificant compared to being obese or morbidly obese in which fat mass secretes the less potent estrone. The really potent estrogen premenopausal women have comes from their ovaries called beta-estradiol, men have exponentially less of this, however a man can have just as much or even a little bit more beta estradiol than a post menopausal woman.

    Gonna be honest with you... If you had told me the opposite I'd still have Korean fried chicken with tofu fries for breakfast tomorrow. If people can smoke and still be fine I'll survive the "estrogen" in chicken and soy.
