I feel like this tutorial would only work for one VERY specific style. I just kinda shade the hair first and then add light later? It makes a lot more since if shown rather than spoken
Another thing you can do is make blobs in the general shape of the highlights you want and then erase the ends of them similar to this video. If you use a brush that can change its opacity based on pressure. This will work well.
Is the setting similar though?? Im asking because Im a beginner and I don't know these things. Also Can I use the exact similar things in Infinite paint?? Please tell me.
@@blaze26700 The blur settings are slightly different in the 'filter' mode. And the blur tools outside of 'filter' mode act more like a blurring brush. You also have to manually change the eraser to the one you need, you cant just hold then set it to the same brush as your drawing one. As for the infinite paint question, Idk.
@@blaze26700im also a beginner and have both the free versions of medibang ibis paint and brought procreate. @@Ms.NoNo2 I use a hair brush and soft round brush for the shine its simple and everything between is just painting the values lights and darks. The hair brush saves you so much time from drawing line for line but its still your work.
In the long run that's not super helpful but appreciated, I would say look up references and know what direction the light is coming from. Just like the hair is separated into multiple parts it's also on a 3d surface which means that only part of the volume will receive light and the other side will be shaded. Hope that helps someone.
I typically make a thinner white line on a new layer and use the smudge tool while zigzagging across the line. Just angle the zigzag with the direction of the hair flow and you get a nice effect.
Thanks, I couldn't do it the exact way with the perspective blur but I did find away to do it with another blur tool in my program by following the steps up to that! This was very helpful! Thank you!
it would be easier if you just did a lighter tone on top on a separate layer, blur or blend by choice & then add little white highlights. at least that’s what i do lol
We need a tutorial on drawing amazing hair before we can add some shine 😂

As an artist I feel like there is an easier less technical way to do this.
As an artist, this isn't technical at all 😅😅

As a traditional artist this is confusing

i get this is anime style, but i think it's good to keep the light source in mind too. especially if you're learning

Traditional artists looking how to do hair shine: 👁👄👁
Ah... Using prespective blur to make it blend into the drawing is so much clever... Indeed it would be easier for some ppl to replicate
This is SO much more easier to understand than 10 minute tutorials-
Really had to trust the process. I think this is proof that even the best art has an ugly faze lol. It turned out really good.
My girl really said 🤯
So cute ❤
Thanks for sharing!!
Now do it on 4c hair
I always learn so much with these videos. thanks for the upload!
Its official, hes wayyyyyyy better then explaining then Kooleen.
Ooooh! I like this!
We need this same tutorial for Infinity painting 😢
That seemed awfully complicated but it’s a nice final outcome. Whatever works best for you
yeah exactly, he also didnt talk about the foundation... How is someone gonna know where exactly to place the highlights?
@@soelemonthat’s why you do realism first and actually learn the fundamentals instead of instantly doing anime
Exactly. People want to actually learn how to DRAW the hair shine, not use digital art tools.

honestly there are so many ways to draw highlights. The most important part is following the headshape.
