২ কোটি ১০ লাখ ৭১ হাজার ৬৭১ টাকা আত্মসাতের অভিযোগে ২০০৮ সালের তেসরা জুলাই বিএনপি চেয়ারপারসন বেগম খালেদা জিয়া ও দলের সিনিয়র ভাইস চেয়ারম্যান তারেক রহমানসহ ৬ জনের বিরুদ্ধে মামলা দায়ের করে দুদক। এ মামলায় ২০১৪ সালের ১৯ মার্চ অভিযোগ গঠন করেন ঢাকার তৃতীয় বিশেষ জজ আদালতের বিচারক বাসুদেব রায়।
২৩৬ কার্যদিবসে মামলাটির বিচারিক কার্যক্রম শেষ হয়। অভিযোগ প্রমাণে দুদক ৩২জন সাক্ষীর সাক্ষ্য উপস্থাপন করে। দুদকের আইনজীবীদের যুক্তি, বিদেশ থেকে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর ফান্ডে টাকা এসেছে ১৯৯১ সালে। কিন্তু ট্রাস্ট গঠন হয়েছে ১৯৯৩ সালে। অর্থাৎ ট্রাস্ট গঠনের আগেই কিভাবে ট্রাস্টের নামে টাকা আসে তা নিয়ে প্রশ্ন তুলেছেন তারা।
