Problems: 1) Struggle to get a top/preferred DC, 2) CMC achillies not fully healing, 3) ignoring the OL at the top of the draft, 4) poor handling on Brandon Aiyuk's contract extension, 5) Trent Williams holdout in camp, 6) huge injuries in season, 7) blowing leads late in games... Been a rough year. The 49ers need to get a better defensive coordinator and Special Teams coach, have a good free agency period (additions and subtractions), and nail the upcoming draft. I'd be all about signing Drew Dalman as a free agent center (if they think he can improve on pass blocking. He's one of the best run blocking centers in the league). I'd also look into resigning DJ Jones at Defensive tackle (currently on the Broncos). He would at least help with the run defense. From there, focus on RT and DL in first two rounds of the draft and then maybe look at an additional prospect at C/G to build out some depth on the OL. Brendel, Hargrave, Juice and Ward are probably leaving. Banks and Deebo might leave as well (although big cap hit if Deebo gets cut or traded currently). I'd like them to resign Hufanga and Greenlaw to short extensions if possible.
