The mv also talks about them leaving each other, Lisa barely got any lines. They all are singing to Lisa to stay and not break this group and in Lisa’s verse she sings back to them and tells them that she won’t leave and stay with them forever. At the end they are happy because they all love each other and will support each on every step in life :)

It's double entendre. This song also is about their journey when they were trained when one by one of their friends or other trainee leave or quit because of hard training or failed during evaluation.
That got me surprised, Stay is really underrated and is my favorite BlackPink song

Actually STAY doesn't mean a HEARTBREAK song its a song where all of them ask one another or themselves to STAY as BLACKPINK as they conquer the darkness part of being a KPOP. The judgement, the toxic fans and being just kpop in general. 🥰
In the last part it signifies that even though there is a dark side of kpop they can still be HAPPY when they are all together. All for one one for All. And thats how BP friendship looks like to me. Their FRIENDSHIP its beyond Kpop and Blackpink
This is actually one of my favorite BlackPink songs along with "Boombayah", "Playing With Fire", "As If It's Your Last", and "Lovesick Girls". This was a title track along with "Playing With Fire". For BlackPink's debut and first comeback, they released two songs each time and both were considered title tracks.
STAY is the song that cheered me up during my final board Exams. i love BLACKPINK it has been almost 2 years since i stan them and i never regretted staning them.

Stay is actually a underrated blackpink song, I can't understand why people sleep on this masterpiece.
There are all sorts of theories about the video. Some believe that one of them died and the others sing to bring them back so they can stay together. The people dressed in white at the end are ghosts, watching the girls reunited with the one who died. Not sure about that myself but have read that or something similar a few times. Such a sad song in my view. During a live performance of Stay, Jennie became overwhelmed with emotion and had to stop singing. Jisoo and the Blinks came to the rescue and sang her lines.

I really love these lyrics, so meaningful. And the line of chorus "It goes a little something like, Lalala" I feel that. Even the person I hate the most but I still love and want to stay, when that person stay by my side I feels like "Lalala" like in the lyrics even her/him words really can hurt me. This song isn't only for break up, this song is for the persons are leaving our side and did the bad things to us but it still we want them to stay with us. I recommend many of kpop songs to my tuition teacher as I m really close with her she was feeling stressed those days so I sent my fav songs of BTS and BLACKPINK and out of all the songs she just loved STAY and I personally think that stay is damm underrated...
