    Good stuff here, but I have a question please - I thought that Leos needed multiple hides? I saw that your males have two hides, but don't the females/babies also need multiple hides? Thank you. Nice videos.

    I can’t afford racks lol I’m just stacking tubs until I run out of room. I’m working on building a couple though hopefully. Love your videos! ❤
    EDIT: damn I’ve been buying a bunch of 28 quarts for my males and females because people told me I just HAD to put them in 28 quarts lol

    "I love your setup! Did you add fake leaves and other enrichment items? I've provided my gecko with similar items and they love it! I also keep my geckos in larger enclosures. Females have 2 feet of space, males have three, and babies have 7-inch tubs that are 2 feet long and 6 inches high. I understand that this may not be possible for everyone, but adding a simple fake plant to each tub is a great way to provide mental stimulation for your gecko!”

    How do you feel about the ve7 rack? Also are these 11qt tubs bigger in floor space than say a 12 qt shoe box?

    I'm curious as to why the Geckos don't eat the small vermiculite stones. Do they just know since they get enough adequate minerals?

    • @LunaGeckos
      @LunaGeckos  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are really only interested in eating live insects. Occasionally while hunting they may grab some substrate, but it’s not harmful.

    Hi! What temperature range do you keep your VE-6 heat tape at?

    • @LunaGeckos
      @LunaGeckos  ปีที่แล้ว

      92 for leopards and 90 for fat tails.

  • @rubbesh4085
    @rubbesh4085 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Uncle it seems the tub height is small is they wont escape?

    • @LunaGeckos
      @LunaGeckos  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Height is low, but Leopards and Fat Tails aren’t all that good at climbing, so an enclosure with height is a waste of space. The bins fit in the rack with only a slight gap of less than an 1/8th inch. I’ve never had one get out.

    so why a calcium bowl? will they eat the calcium powder just from that dish why not dust the mealworms with the calcium? kind regards :)

    • @LunaGeckos
      @LunaGeckos  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do dust the mealworms with calcium and vitamins. The extra calcium bowl gets licked by them too. Some more than others and especially babies.

    Is 11qt Ok for an adult female? Is it going to stress them out since their confined to such a small space? (Not trying to criticize, I’m trying to get a good idea what size tubs I need to have for my new breeding project)

    • @LunaGeckos
      @LunaGeckos  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question. Quart size is a bit misleading. It’s more about floor space. Since these tubs aren’t very high, they have ample floor area. The 11qt has the floor space a little smaller than a 10 gallon aquarium. Note that this is a breeding setup and not how I’d recommend keeping them as a pet. Although I have been keeping in these for nearly a decade without issue. Thanks
