Try setting your display to display both VFO's. Then set VFO B (Sub) display for 3DSS. Set VFO A (Main) dispaly for waterfall.
Then press "Sync". You will get a nice display that follows your activity with the 3DSS and waterfall tracking your activity.
Of course both bandscopes need to be set for the same "Span". Be in "Fixed" mode on the 3DSS and waterfall. Set each independently by pressing the "Main" and "Sub" buttons one at a time to set this. Also, a trick to know is press and hold the "Fix" on the screen to set your lower band edge 3DSS and waterfall edges.

This is interesting. Thanks for the suggestion. Im using a dedicated receive loop on VFOB (so my antenna there is RANT). My VFOA is ANT1 (OCFD)

I see people have had issues with this rig when it comes to updating the firmware. I figure I will not be attempting to update. Not worried about having the latest updates at the risk of doing it wrong. I am wondering if operator error is causing the lock up?

I just got the 101D. I heard the updates via SD card done wrong will lock them up. I am in the camp that if it is not broke, do not try to fix it. So I will not attempt any updates as I am more than fine with it as is. Same goes for my DX-10.

I have one as well but it is a paperweight now. Has SD card error on boot up. Had it out to Yaesu already for the same problem. Other than that it is a great rig.

@@hamlive7923 Needless to say considering what I spent for it I am not a happy Ham. Yaesu service does not really know that the problem is. The second time around I was asked to track the times and dates of the failures. Clearly putting it off or buying time. Also having to do resets is not an acceptable fix.

@@hamlive7923 Yup I could not get through to service but that is what I will demand. It is a pain shipping it from east coast. And even after that there is no assurance it will be resolved based on how the problem comes and goes. If not I will flood E Ham and QRZ reviews with negative reviews.

The yaesu FTDX101MP is overpriced for what it does. You will be crying if it breaks down and becomes unrepairable. I will never buy that radio for the money they want.
