Pete broke a 70 yr old cardinal rule of the MLB and knew the penalty for doing so. That just wasn't the case for Bonds and Clemens.....a PED based Hall snub didn't even exist as a concept back in the late 90s. There weren't even consequences to using PEDs back then.

Had to buy his photo. 10 minutes later, I’m sitting in the book deciding on my baseball bets, and in comes Pete. We sat for 10 minutes or so and bc I was loaded, I asked who he liked. When I was 10 years old and Pete was chasing the 56 game hitting streak Wide world of Sports had a highlight segment. My father sat me down in front of the TV and said to me That's how you play ball. It had a great impact on my life in baseball. I will always be grateful to Pete Rose for that reason. Sad day

Pete's "mistake" of long-term denial always struck me as a form of mental illness. So sad, he could have been so much of an ambassador for the sport, a hero even. Instead, just another bitter old man. So sad.
When I was 10 years old and Pete was chasing the 56 game hitting streak Wide world of Sports had a highlight segment. My father sat me down in front of the TV and said to me That's how you play ball. It had a great impact on my life in baseball. I will always be grateful to Pete Rose for that reason. Sad day
When I moved in USA … he was already banned !!! Took me a time to understand baseball… I am not a baseball historian ? but an average utility player he is was best by all means!!!!we all do own had something bad or good in our lives… as knowing sports now ! Today mlb league lost a legend! My thoughts and prayers goes to his family..

The Mets were swinging at anything in game 2 today. It didn't have to be a strike at all. They just wanted to get out of there. It was sort of a disservice to Arizona.
