- Ryan Phillippe is having a little fun reacting to ex-wife Reese Witherspoon’s recent comments that she doesn’t think she looks like their daughter, Ava, despite everyone calling them twins. In this new interview with ‘Extra’s’ Katie Krause, Ryan, who was joined by director Matthew Gentile, also reveals how he is helping both of his kids navigate fame as son Deacon pursues both acting and music. In his new film ‘American Murderer,’ Ryan stars as an FBI agent hunting down con man Jason Derek Brown, who is still to this day on the FBI’s Top Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list. The movie, based on a true story, hits theaters October 21.

I love how beautifully he spoke about his children and their privilege being happy to have been able to give them that. Ryan and Reese did a good job as parents.

I agree with you. Ava has features from both parents. Ava face and eyes shape like her Dad but her smile similar to her Mom. Deacon definitely looks more like his Mom than his Dad.

I think he was right - Ava has some of her mom but mostly resembles her dad and then vice versa with Deacon. I will say, and not to sound creepy, that Reese and Ryan kinda resemble eachother in certain ways - at least in my opinion.
I learned in a psychology class that we tend to pick people that resemble us when it comes to procreating. I notice that a lot of couples end up either looking like each other from the jump or over time.

Their two kids are the perfect combination of both Reese and Ryan. I also love to see how well they coparent together. I feel like it’s rare to see celeb exes that actually get along and have a great friendship. Chris Pratt and Anna Faris is another example of great coparents.

When Ava was little I always thought she looked like Reese's twin but now I think she looks like a mini female Ryan. Can't recall what Deacon looked like when he was younger (and I'm too lazy to google it lol) but he is most definitely a younger male version of Reese. Great interview, Ryan looks good! I completely agree with what you're saying BUT when my kids (13 & 17) are trying to navigate what they want to do in life I tell them, "If you enjoy what you do, you never work a day in your life". Also, in this day and age being a good human is contributing to mankind. I think we all know life isn't about "happy, happy, joy, joy" but isn't the trick trying to get there through it all?

Girls often resemble their fathers and sons their mothers. Not always but most of the time. It's stated that its to prevent a father from rejecting a baby girl. Which was often done back 100+ years ago in the US and only a couple decades ago in Asian countries.
Our daughter looked just like her father when she was a baby. Slowly she has a few of my traits but I still see her daddy in her facial expressions, her hair, eyebrows, and toes!!!
