These reviews are terrific, surprisingly concise but very informative. 2 things about the RoRs, though: it may be worth mentioning the price difference & stat difference versus the base unit (& versus a rank 9 unit). And it would definitely be worthwhile to just casually mention what the RoR brings to the table that the regular unit lacks (ie which ones regenerate etc etc). Considering skeletons can have 0 upkeep with research, there's basically never a reason to spend gold on grave guard... It's pretty much always better to have a corpse cart or necro etc. that can boost the skeletons. The enemy might not take much damage at the start of the battle, but even elite infantry will exhaust themselves against mass skeletons and the stamina penalty will make them start taking more damage.

Don't strawman me with your little nerd attitude :P more importantly, how are graveguard fun in any way? They're just a slow infantry unit with no special abilities. I would have more fun with literally any other undead unit
Thanks for this guide. I’ve found that dire wolves have another use which helps quite a lot- they are really really good at killing retreating units. You might ask why that is important- but if an enemy is either terror routing or is simply routing at anything more than half health, send direwolves after it and it will either rout off the battlefield, or it will simply shatter or be wiped out. In early game at higher difficulties, this can mean the difference between a long protracted engagement or a relatively quick surgical strike,
Vampire counts are one of my favorites. 1: because of the raise dead mechanic. 2: because of monsters like the varghulf. 3: vampiric corruption is awesome.

This video gave me the incentive to play the Vampire Counts faction for the first time. I have to say I'm absolutely loving them, and I wouldn't be doing half so well with them if I hadn't watched this a few times through. So thanks.
This was a good roster overview, HOWEVER, it would be good to mention that some of these units you mentioned are DLC only, such as the magic carts and the Regiments of Renown. Right now playing as Vampire counts without paid dlc against multiple stacks of higher level chaos warriors and having quite a bit of difficulty
Your guides continue to be immensely helpful! Do you think you're going to update your Vampire Counts, Empire, and High Elves guides with the "army composition" section that you do in all your other guides?
While it is based on personal experience, it is one of very few guides that takes on indepth mechanics of each individual unit rather then just their stats or factionwide usage.
I tried playing as Heinrich Kemmler, I thought skeleton warriors were neat but I hated the fact I had absolutely no archers. Especially since I use range a lot in my play style.
They really don't need them from what I've played of them so far. Just drown enemies in a frontline of zombies and skeletons and then rush bats and wolves / vargheists around to instantly demolish everything behind the frontline. Becomes easier after you get the -100% skeleton upkeep and can afford to keep a stack of 2 dozen skeleton units every battle.
I remember winning a heavyly one sided battle because the vargulf just destroyed the enemy army... While my lord just kept kiting and running away and using spells to help it.

Why do your vargiest have 280 speed? 7:05 and fell bats are actually slower at 265 6:37 talk about a weird mod. 9:23 a terrorghiest that flys at 340 speed

Bit harsh on the fel bats. Theyre really good with the right magic support (healing / buffs / enemy debuffs) vampire counts have a ton of those.

grave guard are great, but they get outmatched by most other cqc elite infantry js

That’s pirate coast, they come with Warhammer 2. Vampire counts are a Warhammer 1 faction.
