Me, myself & Irene was hilarious, maybe the most over the top Jim carrey performance and I love it
I think that this video, along with the other videos featuring Joyce Kulhawik, show that categorically, Roger Elbert should have chosen her as Gene Siskel’s successor. Yes, Richard Roeper did a good job. But you simply didn’t have the back and forth of male and female that adds another dimension to their criticism. The fact that JK did a few shows with Ebert (as opposed to just one or two), shows that to a point, she was in the running for the job as his co-host. I think that in the end, he was just more comfortable with another man-especially one who came from his same paper. In a way, this was a bit of a cop out on Ebert’s part; that is, it was easier for him to have someone from his own paper than a competitor (never mind that Gene Siskel was from a competitor).
To make it clear, so am I saying that Ebert was a sexist by choosing Roeper over Kulhawik? Not necessarily. The gender issue is definitely there. But, as I said, I think he was just more comfortable working with another man.
Take that as you will.
I agree. Ultimately, Ebert chose Roeper because they were buddies and in choosing him always and forever maintain the role of the "superior" critic. I agree that this lady is one of the best guest hosts of this run and I think I would have been interesting to see someone who seems like they're just generally a more thoughtful person giving their takes. I really never liked Roeper because he never displayed much nuance or actual analysis, like a good film critic, it was really just the binary like/not like.
The Patriot is Rated R but i felt like because of only three violent scenes great villain btw
R.I.P Ebert and Heath Ledger.
I like the movie Chicken Run, but I can’t help but think it’s an unintended prequel to Animal Farm. All movies are equal, but some movies are more equal than others.
So sad of what happened to Heath Ledger.
What happened to him?!
@@doddsino He passed away in 2008 from pills to help himself stay awake or whatever. He got very very into the role of the Joker staying up late here n there. Or were they sleeping pills. ....Yeah he had trouble sleeping I think as he prepped himself towards that iconic role. He overdosed on the pills basically at 28 years old.
RIP Heath.
@@stefanpoirier6810 Those were sleeping pills. Jack Nicholson warned him about those pills because when he took them, he passed out in his driveway.😊
Chicken Run 👍🌟🌟🌟🌟
The Patriot 👍🌟🌟🌟
Both starring Mel Gibson
I found during the episode that had The Grinch review, during the New on Video recap, it shows that Roeper gave Thumbs Down to Chicken Run. I just don’t get it.
Well, It's a Hidden Easter Egg.
Great host chemistry.
However, Richard Roeper gave Chicken Run (2000) a Thumb Down.
Dopey Roeper
