    Thanks for the museum tour Harrison! There's some VERY good stuff there, isn't there?
    Just a brief historic note for everyone, when the N&W began to dieselize in earnest the only diesels they bought were EMD's. The other diesels seen in N&W markings typically came from other railroads by way of mergers hence the Wabash and Nickle Plate units. Like yourself what that GG1's doing there I have NO idea, G's only came as far south as the now-gone Potomac Yard in Alexandria, just across the Potomac from Washington.
    Thanks again!

    12:50 that SDP45 was supposed to be restored to operational condition for a short line in Ohio that ran on former EL trackage (the SDP45s of Conrail were former Erie Lackawanna). If I remember correctly they were supposed to restore the Erie Lackawanna colors. unfortunately they weren't able secure the funds though and it was never moved out of Roanoke. it's the last SDP45 of the EL variant that still exists.

      Jointed Rail has their model of this labeled as an SD45m, Idk if that's right but if we trust Athearns classification then it's an SDP45. These were actually owned by the N&W and were returned to them (actually NS) in the 80s. These ran on NS in Conrail paint and the only identification of the owner were 'NW' reporting marks under the road number on the cab.

      @nathanjiang100 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@franks471 they are SDP45s but since EL didn’t want them for passenger service, rather for their larger fuel tanks, they are also referred to as SD45M. They were labelled as SDP45 on Conrail and were very much a part of the SDP45 program.

      The possibility of 611 running again is VERY good. The Strasburg RR had a very good relationship with the locomotive and it had some good runs in Virginia on the Buckingham Branch RR. It's too good to sit idle and probably won't for long.

      @@wayneantoniazzi2706it would be nice also if NS allowed 611 back on their rails
      And it probably needs to go to Spencer for a inspection check or something but I agree with you
      Hopefully by the end of June something might be announced hopefully

      @@Robertmitchell2121 I agree, but at this time there's no way 611's going to be allowed to run on NS trackage. That's the problem with steam runs on Class 1 railroads, it all depends on who's butt is in the CEO's seat. Things could change at NS but I wouldn't hold my breath.

    Lots of fun to watch, as usual. Harrison, if you haven't seen them, try to see the great black & white photos O. Winston LInk made of the Norfolk & Western when it was still using steam. One place I've seen some is the Eastman photography museum in Rochester, NY. I also saw there a great HO model, probably by Otto Vondrak , based on one of Link's photo showing a N&W steam loco passing a drive-in movie theater. Link also photographed the workers at the N&W's steam locomotive shops in Roanoke, the most modern in the country.

      There is the O. Winston Link Museum right in Roanoke; it features some of his work and describes how the photos were taken. It is located in the building that I believe was the Norfolk Western passenger station.

    The 1776 used to be under the canopy. They must’ve moved it out to make room for the 611
