I learned very early on when my children were little, that the Little Golden Books could be garbage. They just weren’t compelling reading for kids. Instead, we purchased I Can Read books: Frog And Toad, Owl At Home, Grasshopper On The Road, Little Bear, and so on.
I remember some of those. Frog & Toad was great! Paddle to the Sea, Wind in the Willows, Aesop's Fables, Harvey's Hideout, and the Chose Your Own Adventure series were also favorites of mine as a young boy-engaging enough that I remember them to this day.
Abraham Lincoln was raised in a rough log cabin and had less than a year of formal schooling. Despite this, he educated himself by firelight when his heavy chores on the farm were done. Understanding the psyches of the weak and fragile, these messages make more sense for somebody with a basic understanding of politics (which isn't young children, even teenagers at that) and people who just like to get their news from headlines or people who can't handle reality outside of their own scope. Maybe a too nuanced take here, but I don't think that these books were made for actual children at all. The infantilization and coddling of Millennials and Gen Z has been pretty apparent in the last 15-20 years. I think these books were made in the context of a more circle-jerky, echo chamber kind of approach. Understanding the psyches of the weak and fragile, these messages make more sense for somebody with a basic understanding of politics (which isn't young children, even teenagers at that) and people who just like to get their news from headlines or people who can't handle reality outside of their own scope.
Unless they have the worst marketing department ever, they know exactly who their target demo is here; most likely extreme leftist parents who will only want to teach their kids this kind of "history". If they can also get some actual children on board the zombie train, the better for their continued push of a controllable population.

It's very wordy for a children's book. It has to be. The only reason to use a whole bunch of words when describing somebody's life is is to fill space in the face of a lack of any actual accomplishment.

He also had a severe anger problem, but I see this as him being overtaken by an uncontrollable force. No matter what state of mind I'm in, it's incredibly easy to focus on the positive memories. Bruh, in preschool, we didn't give a fuck about politics. Mainly because we couldn't wrap our head around it. Didn't even talk about the president very much at the time.
I didn't even who was president in pre-school at this reading level the closest I got was a book about the John J. Harvey which covered its service during 9/11 with no real details about the attack other than two planes hitting two buildings.

Im a former teacher and librarian with a specialty in early childhood literacy. What a completely uninteresting book for a child. The words used ( prosecutor, impeachment, LGBTQ+, etc) are not within the interest level or comprehension of a young child. Poor Kamala would be devastated to know that kids much prefer to read the book "Walter, the Farting Dog" rather than her book.
