Not far off take the index finger of C add it to the D chord to create a new chord call it 7 day F then remove the C, then turn to your audience and just play jumper by third eye blind instead.
I wish your channel existed when i was a kid, being able to quickly play songs would have made guitar fun and i wouldnt have quit for so long! There's nothing wrong with going back to strengthen your foundation later, im firmly in the camp of "try anything that will make you keep practicing"
I love your 'only what's necessary' approach to learning the guitar. So what if someone learns a few different versions of the 'standard' chords in their first lesson? The advice to play by ear and/or use a capo until the chords sound right is also much more intuitive than the amount of theory many newbies are expected to learn before they can play real songs. Plus, way more students would dive deeper into the guitar world if they managed to make some nice sounding music without all the hassle. I remember being mesmerised by the sound of these exact chord shapes and wondering what I could do to replicate that feeling in other ways.
Yeah but can you play Happy Birthday or Twinkle Twinkle Little Star or Come as you are with these chords? NOOOOOOPE you're just another strumming boring whiner that howls more than he plays lol You also gotta learn TABS for iconic riffs and Nirvana songs and for impressing Mother Dearest! Smoke on the water and keep on truckin!!!!
0:43 Actually you fingers get harder(😏)by time. If you really wanna play Guitar even like that...your fingers will start paying less. For example i now after 5 years with... To be honest only an 1 or 40 min a week it will take me like... 40-50 ? Min to hurt? Or it won't hurt me at all... So yeah. If you wanna be able to play more than 5 3minutes songs then don't stop when it starts hurting a bit
I know it's a tutorial on how to learn enough of guitar to play guitar somehow but as long as no one can hear you, play with a pick. If you know that something is a mistake, your brain will learn from it and you will eventualy stop doing it. It's like extra learning during your learning.
Yeah! That's how I begun 45 years ago, just learned 6 or 7 chords and was learning to play accompaniment for the songs by ear. Too bad it didn't go much further than that back then, but hey, it is never too late to learn how to play a guitar! Waiting for a new Enya X3 to arrive tomorrow to start this journey again! Thanks for another great video, btw, didn't appreciate them at first, but changed my mind - your compressed method to deliver key knowledge is great!
a tip is to keep your arm and wrist moving up and down and only to hit the strings when the pattern calls for it. you also dont need to have a specific strumming pattern, you can judt strum randomly and if it’s on beat, it will hopefully sound good :)
this is probably going to be a very stupid question but can you play an electric guitar without it being plugged in to a amp and can you just play it without attaching it to anything like without any cords
We need more shaky but effective foundation type tutorials for other things🤣 like starting some kind of business or getting into stocks 🤣 my patience is limited
Good question - I’d say just experiment with different combinations moving your index and middle finger around not thinking about what the actual chords are
Chords are the funnest thing to learn on guitar! All you have to do is to look up the chords for songs you like online. Every song you’ll play will have a new chord you didn’t play yet, and eventually you’ll know most of the chords you need in order to play every song in the world!
The dots mean 'play without fretting this string' aka open. The X means 'don't play this string ' (because the sound it would make doesn't fit in the chord). Good luck and happy playing!
Middle school music teachers hate this one weird trick that lets you play Don't Stop Believing in less than a week!
