@@omoionline I use a Hobonichi Techo Weeks but I supplement with my own designed planning pages for various things. I can't say that I have encountered many people talking at length about typography in planners, but I do think it's a design element that influences people in their decision making.
@@define23paperie ooo cool re: your planner. The Hobonichi Weeks is always tempting and such a nice size. A lot of staff is using that this year, we're planning to make a video about it. 🤫Agree about typography as an important/influential design element. -Monk
I love how original and organic your TN set up is. Love the neon green strap and amazing that you have the original olive TN! Beautifully worn and loved.
This video is perfect timing for me as I am just now setting up my tn for the year. I saw your face on my browse page and clicked INSTANTLY! This year, I'm digitally planning the boring life stuff, but I could never abandon my comfort TN! I wanted to wait until I settled into 2025 for a bit and figure out my intentions for the year so I can decorate with them in mind. Your shop has such a special place in my heart😻 I always stop in whenever I'm in Philly and end up spending way too much time picking out stuff. I still remember the sheer joy I felt picking up my fav tn from your shop, it's definitely a core memory for me 🥲 I LOVED seeing both of your set ups, but that first one with all the little bits and stickers you have collected throughout the year was so special to watch!! Side note: OMG! I am fan girling right now! I didn't see the tag notification!! The shout-out caught me off guard! Thank you!!!🥰You have already made 2025 my year, thank you so much Monk!❤❤❤
wauw so nice to hear from you! I feel you about waiting a little bit and settling into the year before getting things setup. I'm only now clearing out my PLOTTER for resetting my yearly life projects, and still have yet to get to the actual plotting. No desire to rush at the top of the year. TY!! for kind words about my TN. Happy New Year. ^-^/ -Monk
This is a fun video! I need some TN inspiration! Right now my TN holds a knitting log/journal, travel planning notebook, and a vertical weekly that I love but can’t think of how to use yet(my planner is Hobonichi Weeks, HON for memory keeping), and the plastic zipper folder for stickers (including Omoi sticker sheet!). The TN kinda serves as a collection of important but not daily notebooks.
oo thanks for sharing. the knitting log/journal sounds so cool and nice. i really admire when people do more visual stuff in their notebooks. as for the vertical weekly, sometimes it is just that you need to see the date and nothing else haha. -Monk
Great video 😀 I used an insert and drew a monthly planner which left a lot of pages…so I carried on drawing out the months till the insert was full and it now covers two years. I hate wasting paper too, so this worked out really well. And love your two pouches…I’ve got them too. I think they really add something, some character maybe, to the TN.
Yes the serif was sort of a barrier to me having interest in the system at the beginning. I didn't really think about getting one until I was at a trade show where all of the TRAVELER'S people had their TNs sitting out casually on a table, and I saw how good and well worn and purposeful they looked! I don't really buy other brand inserts as make my own. Altho I did once chop an A5 jibun techo IDEA notebook to fit my TN, LOVE that paper...😍 -Monk
I'm with you on the no serif designs in my planner! Also - that Sand-It fluorescent document holder is too cool 😊
Interesting! what planner do you use? also have you encountered people talking about typography and planners before? I'm so curious now... -Monk

Wow I love hearing about your DIY neverending monthly planner, that's nice. Agree about the pouches adding character to the TN. -Monk
100% agree that the sans serif looks better. All the serif text TN uses stresses me out, so I buy planner inserts from other brands.
