The storm has finally passed. We are fortunate and blessed that the Lord kept us safe.
This song has Spiritual and physical meaning to me. When I was 10 years old, Hurricane Donna hit Ft Myers FL. We lived in a trailer park on Ft Myers Beach. Our family went to our Pastor's house to wait out the storm. I remember, vividly, his whole family and ours, kneeling around his coffee table and praying for the protection of our home. When it was over, we drove back home, unsure EXACTLY what we were going to see. As we pulled into the park, there was just absolute devistation on the right and on the left. Trailers with NOTHING but the steel girders and wheels left. Ours was the ONLY trailer standing! There was a nearly empty can of flea powder for the dog on the coffee table, that would fall over at the slightest bump. It was still standing! A palm tree that was just inches from the side of the trailer was split down the middle, and never even scratched the paint! I KNOW God answers Prayer!!!
He is our shelter in every storm. We had a similar experience. As I backed out of our driveway evacuating ahead of hurricane Katrina approaching, I looked back at our modest home of 40 years, knowing it was the Lord's to do with as He wanted. I prayed and asked Him to please spare the house. When we came back, there were trees down all around us, on three different sheds - but only one shingle on our roof needed to be nailed down. I have always imagined that He simply placed His hand, palm down, over the house. He is more wonderful than words can express.

Our church group went to a Gaither concert in mid Jan or Feb 2020 just as Covid19 was starting to ramp. They sang this song as we lit our candles in the dark. The next week all gatherings were shut down. I will never forget what this song means to me.

We are living in the biggest storm we have ever seen. But it's ALL in God's control. We have to trust Him!!! Things are going to get worse but we have no other options. Trust His Heart ❤ He loves us & will NEVER leave us or forsake us. The Storm will pass by!!

I remember this song from years ago, when I first believed in my Lord Jesus Christ. It brought tears to my eyes then and now but tears of joy that I have found my Shelter in the storms if life. Ps. 57:1 "In the shadow of Your wings I will take refuge, till the storms of destruction pass by."
We must keep our eyes on the Lord and continual to Trust Him with ALL of our hearts and lean not unto our own understanding but acknowledging Him in ALL things and He will direct our path Amen. Proverbs 3:5&6

Elizabeth perilpoux son has just moved to port Charlotte and they were right in the eye of ian water came to his front door and stopped they were left with a a lot of debris to pick up but the house did great. I tell you prayer is one of God's greatest tools in his arsenal. We can depend on God. He is so faithful to his children.

Sorry for your loss, I too lossed My Husband in2019. I will share something my Husband told me before he died. He said for me to live life to the fullest. I have let the Lord lead me, I got involved in Church activity, go places with friends, play cards etc. be blessed in Jesus name 🙏

A very beautiful and timeless song. Here in our place in the Philippines, especially in Bicol Region, we were hit by five typhoons in just this month of November, many lives were taken and damages are severely strong. When I was a teenager I attended the Riverside Baptist Church, Tampa, Florida, where Mosie Lister played the piano for our Sunday School Department. Later when I was in high school, I knew both of his twin daughters as we all attended Hillsborough High, Tampa, Florida. Precious memories of a great hymn writer; and, the days when the beloved Riverside Baptist Church was a large and vibrant congregation. Another hymn that Mosie wrote was, "How Long Has It Been?"--and, it too has always been one of my favorite hymns written by a great man of. faith. Mosie's musical legacy continues to live on as it blesses so many years after the hymns were written. Eternal Rest Grant Unto His Beloved Servant, Mosie Lister.
I find great comfort in this song,especially so, in these challenging times.May people of Faith, the world over ,be comforted and keep Hope alive.
