Archon doesn’t mean god , zhongli was already a god before becoming an archon , archons are specific gods that were given the title of archon after surviving the archon war
It's kinda confusing but, before the Archon war there were alot more gods and after the Archon war there were only 7 left. After the great calamity, there were only 2 left and 5 vacant spots. So to fill those Vacant spots Teyvet/Celestia had to get 5 new gods to take those vacant spots but since there weren't anymore, the gods that were recently created automatically become Archons. If another god were to arise, they would not be considered an Archon but just another god unless they manage to defeat/kill one of the Archons
Archons are “mortal beings” whom have ascended to godhood and have been given a Gnosis (communication device and power booster) by Celestia, alongside having a nation to rule/or look after. There are 7 Archons left of the many that once existed, prior to the Archon war. Azhdaha was considered a God in Genshin Impact, but *not* an Archon, as he did not rule a nation, neither did he have a Gnosis.
I mean... I do want a sit option on Zhongli's statue... God knows how many times I climbed that statue and want sit. And take many pictures while at it. 🤣
