  • If you need to add two values together, introduce some fancy logic, or perform any on-the-fly transformation to your data, knowing how to make use of calculated fields will help you arrive at a solution.
This video introduces the concept of row-level and aggregate calculations. It is a topic that many beginners run into, usually when they notice a number is not coming out quite as they would expect.

    Hello Sir,
It was a great tutorial. However, I have different situation for which I need your guidance.
I have a election dataset and I have plotted a table, each row having a unique electoral district name and the other two columns having the number of votes won by the candidates of two political affiliations. Thus, I have three fields: -
    electoral_district
    political_affiliation
    number_votes
I need to calculate for each electoral district the difference of margin in votes between the two political affiliations and also number of electoral districts won by each political affiliation.
The challenge is I do not have a dedicated field in the data source for fetching the number of votes for each political affiliation unlike how we saw in above tutorial where we have two dedicated fields of sales and profit and then we could use them in calculated field to compute the new value.
Thus, in such case how do I work on getting the results from my dataset?
    Thank you
