That's a great question--I've found a few things that work for me: 1. If you don't use a whole lot of polish to fill in the images, I usually stamp it on my nail while it is still semi-wet and this helps it stick. This is the method I use most often because it doesn't require extra steps, but if the polish I use to fill in the stamp is thicker, sometimes this can get squished and distort the whole image when I stamp it onto my nail. 2. If the layer is thicker, then I'll wait for it to dry completely on the stamp. Then I'll either stamp it over a base polish that is almost completely dry, but not quite, so it sticks to it, or I'll use a sticky base coat. Sticky base coats work really really well for reverse stamping, and I'd recommend the ORLY Rubberized Base Coat. The sticky base coat has worked for me every time without fail, but it is an extra step. 3. The last method is creating a decal out of the stamped image. Once the stamped image is completely dry, you can apply a layer of top coat and peel it off the stamp when it's dry. Then, apply a layer of top coat to your nails and smooth the decal over it. However, I rarely use this technique cause it probably takes the longest and requires the most clean up. That was a long answer, but hopefully that helps! :)
I put the links to the stamping plates in the description! They are from Born Pretty Store :) A few of them may be out of stock/unavailable, but they have tons of options for stamping plates!
hello 🙂, Can you explain to me how you manage to hold the painted design on the stamp. I tried to paint drawings on the stamps and each time it does not stick to the nail because the varnish to dry even the stamping varnish. What base or sticky base do you have to stick the design on the nail? Can you give me several brands that you use please 😊
That's a good question! I don't always use a sticky base coat, usually I will fill in the stamped image before I paint my last coat of polish on. And then once the stamp is ready to go, I'll paint another coat of polish, and then when that coat is tacky, I'll stamp the image on my nail. That being said, a great sticky base coat that I recommend and like to use is ORLY's Bonder Base. If I want to stamp on top of a polish that I'm already wearing or on top of a design, ORLY's Bonder works amazing! Hope this helps 😊
@@caramellogram thank you very much for your answer which will help me a lot because I began to tell myself that I would not find a solution. thank you again have a nice day 😊🌈
@@caramellogram Can you able to specify the name and reference of several top coat varnishes that do not smear the drawings made with a stamp please 😊. I know that there are classic top coat varnishes that are not for stamping that do not make the designs smudge. hope you do not mind my request. Thank you in advance for your answer 😊.
I don't actually have a no smudge top coat that's meant for stamping yet... I ordered one from Maniology but haven't gotten it yet. I usually wait until my design is completely dry, then use a regular glossy top coat, and I make sure to get quite a bit of top coat on the brush and glide it on my nail, without letting the actual bristles of the brush touch my nail. Hope that helps!
@@caramellogram hi so when you are stamping on nail you have to have your nail sticky a bit? Because i tried to stamp on gel polish but before i stamped i cleaned my nail from sticky part.
It seems to be so injured, you are very great beacuse In addition to bearing that pain you have created such beautiful designs, how is now your beautiful finger mam
Thank you! It was definitely a struggle to do anything with my pinky, but now thankfully it's doing much better! I lost most of the strength of my pinky and there's a scar, but looks way better than it did in this video ahaha!
I actually used regular nail polish for most of the stamping, but the brown I used to stamp the sunflower was a stamping polish. Regular nail polish can work pretty well for stamping, as long as it's pretty opaque, but I find that stamping polishes are definitely more reliable 😊
I bought a lot of stamping plates from Born Pretty, but they are all giving me a hard time transferring the image. I have about 10% success in transferring any thing. I’m using the same stamping polishes and stamper that I use with my maniology plates which give me perfect image every time. Do i need to prep the plate? Any tips?
Sorry to hear that! I don't usually prep my plates besides removing the plastic covering and wiping it with 100% acetone. Have you tried using different stamping polishes and stampers? Perhaps the BP plates work better with a specific type of stamper? Maybe the etched images are shallower so the thinner polish dries faster and you have to work faster?
I have a few different stampers that I use--they're all clear jelly stampers and the ones I use are from NailStuff.ca, Born Pretty, and my Maniology monocle stampers. As for stamping polishes, I use a bunch of different ones from What's Up Nails, Born Pretty, Maniology, MoYou London, and even some regular polishes (like Salon Perfect Oil Slick)
I put all the links in the description already 😊 If the link takes you to the main BP website, that means the plate is no longer available unfortunately
I definitely have to work on my stamping technique! The video is sped up, and I’ve found that if I go slower, then the polish dries before I pick it up. I’d love to hear any other tips you may have for better pick up or good black stamping polish recommendations. 😊 in this video, I used a regular black polish and not a stamping polish

For reverse stamping, do you let the polish completely dry before stamping it on or does it need to be wet? I tried it but it was a mess 🙈🙈🙈
That's a great question--I've found a few things that work for me:

You need to slow down and pay attention to the quality of your work. You are consistently getting poor pickup of the stamping images.
