I dont think Drake eas saying hiphop staryed in Atlanta. I think he is saying that at the moment, Atlanta is where things are popping, more than anywhere, as far as music goes. I dont agree, but that is his opinion. Also, if he's in Atlanta, that wpuld be the Drake thing to say, as he works off of what is hot in the moment, who is hot in the moment, and makes music to reflect that. I am feom Toronto, and we dont take him seriously up here, and neither should anyone rlse, especially if youre abput hophop and not pop stars.

All of America forgot where hip hop started because hip hop started in Jamaica when cool hurt went there he admitted it that he seen what they were doing and went back and tried to simulate it but because they don't have the accent and still to this day not everybody can play a reggae baseline they ended up with what they got and called it hip hop but it started in Jamaica!

Hip Hop did not start in Jamaica. The American Negro from the states was doing hip hop in the 1920’s. Search TH-cam for the video. Other nationalities just latched on to what was already going on in the Bronx.

Hip Hop was commercialized in NY. It's where some major labels were but all the aspects were already being done. People been rapping, break dancing(dancing in general) ,using graffiti and had knowledge. I give respect to cold rappers from all over. I really fuck with New York hip hop but where you think most of those people came from in the projects? They, there parents or grandparents probably moved from a Southern state. They were probably sampling a lot of Southern talent. One of New York best DJs from Houston. DOC went West and coached some legends. No matter how you look at it, it's technically rooted in the South.
