I believed this story. I haved seen weird things, too. Sometimes my family think I am crazy but I believe that people who is it going to become a shaman they see things that regular people don't see.
Lower teir shamman experience this often. Their shamman not able to cover these up and get challenge alot. Not until they can handle their own then it will fade away.

Uncle Fuji I don't know if you remember me from your previous story. I asked you a question and I also shared a little bit of my experience with you. Well, i just figured out I have qhua neeb. This is why i keep seeing things and keep having bad dreams.
He is telling how this one person starts out being a shaman, by seeing spirits. Ordinary people can't see spirits, but some Hmong shaman posses the ability to see good and bad spirits. Often the good spirits shall guide a shaman's way of curing the sickness. According to this short story, as this person continues his shamanism he continues to see less of the spirits. Hmong shaman often starts out by getting severely sick and have little choice but to proceed good health by accepting the way of shamanism. Hope this helps!
We, us hmong have a sixth sense, born with it because us hmong lived with the dead. So many stories of ghost encounters and many histories. Most hmong women hate ghost stories, I myself enjoyed it as a kid. Growing up I had the best imagination there is because it was a place for me to go when I want to get away.
