May i ask why you disliked the ending? Because the ending was mis interpreted by the majority of viewers and the producers failed to portray directly what the ending meant and was quite hard to identify. Is it because Inori died?
It's not so much that Inori died what annoyed me, but HOW she died. It's been a while since I watched this, so correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I remember it went like this: Shu had absorbed all the void and was about to die, but then Inori gave him that "string of fate" and died in his place, which made me really upset. I really liked the idea of him playing the hero and sacrificing himself to save everyone else, especially after all he did before to get there, but then, appearently, someone in the staff decided to let Inori take his place because why the hell not. It's ok if people die in anime, I can even accept my favourite characters dying as long as it's done right and for a good reason. In this case, however, I found it to be completely unnecessary. If only Shu died, I'd be fine because he did it for a good cause. If they both died, I'd accept that too and even if they both somehow survived I'd be fine with that, as long as they logically explain it, but not this. Also, since Shu went blind at the end, I assume that means Inori still kind of exists within him, but that just brings me to my next issue here: They did a terrible job of explaining what exactly happened, especially in those last scenes. I feel like they either rushed the ending or tried too hard to leave it open for interpretation. Sorry for the long answer, but since you asked, I thought I'd just pour it all out there lol

This is also in contribution to the run length. They had to keep the series under certain episodes as each new episode aired costs so much money and indeed they rushed the ending a lot. Along with the "string of fate", the string resembles Inori's soul and when she gave She her string basically she gave him her soul but her physical state would disappear. So basically Inori physically died but her soul lives now within Shu. The link i provided from the top explains this in great detail.

There's still something about your original that I like better. I think your original just had perfect balance in arrangement of notes. I know a lot of people have criticized it by saying it was "too simple" but simple is not always bad. I think the composition of notes is much more important than complexity. I feel in this one you try to go a little fancier and in some parts like 0:30 I think it adds to it (same with some note changes and transitions), but in other parts it gave me this feeling of trying to show off more skill rather than focusing more on feelings and emotions of the song. The original also had this sense of epic and deeper feeling as well as being "short and sweet".
This actually made me cry a little bit :(. For some reason it made me remember som sad stuff, BUT it is just SO beautiful, a bit sad and happy at the same time. I think I might have fallen in love with this arrangement :)
