Eh, ‘rebel’ is a very loaded word and implies an aggressive motivation. I think it’s much more likely that they just want something new, rather than just do what everyone else does. It’s a novelty factor more than a considered cultural/political move.
@@Novarcharesk I get what you mean. Sometimes it's an act of rebellion, but for most, it's basically just, "We're bored of the look we've had for this entire decade. Let's do something new." Like when we went from big and glam looks from the 80s to muted grungy style of the 90s to busy, maximalist, and "tacky" style of the 2000s to minimalist or hipster style of the 2010s. We get bored of the current style after a while and do a 180° to make up for the lack of whatever thing in fashion we lacked recently.
@@Novarchareskagreed, so what word would you use to describe what they are doing then? Also the word rebelling socially has a negative impact, maybe we can change that in the newer generations to just a word of doing something different ❤
It's similar to what I do when I go all out, but I do more subtly. Emphasizing my naturally down-turned eyes is the key too though. I actually learned the techniques through "Hime Gyaru" makeup or "Jirai" makeup which both usually go for the doe eye look and draw the bottom lashes too (usually lower than the real eye line to give even more doe-eye look).
@@necococoI’ll be honest, I have never tried emphasizing my downturned eyes, only trying to figure out how to hide them. I wonder if that change would actually look good on me. Thanks for the idea
Proof that beauty standards change *drastically* over time and that beautiful people exist during all periods of history, even if they don't follow the trends :) Edit: I'm contemplating deleting this comment now. Its purpose wasn't meant to stir up any tension racially or cause a debate on the science of attraction. It was more so to comment on the character of people. Specifically those who feel self consious about their bodies. In the 60s, being twiggy was in. Nowadays, it's being slim-thicc. A person who is kind and compassionate will be seen as attractive, platonically, and sometimes romantically. Be beautiful in acts and words. They're far more important than acne or scars or symmetry.
No. People focus way too mich on what changes instead of what stays - symmetrical features, full hair, flawless skin, etc are always "in". Acne, thin hair, wrinkles, etc were never considered besutifull by the masses.
Honestly, in vibes I feel like we're in a revival of the 60s shift. Like, tired of the curvy, mature, soft toned late 2010s stuff, and back to fun and boppy and youthful with almost cartoonish makeup and bright colours and patterns. Complete with a (slightly too commercial imo) hippie phase after.

1960s Mod here. It’s well groovy seeing this getting out to the world and well groovy seeing you tackle the looks and being so on point. Keep on keepin’, babe! :-)
Ah! Love the expression « well groovy »! Never heard / read it before lol ( English isn’t my native language ). I had to do a presentation for my exam and I chose this theme: counter culture in the 60’s, mostly the Hippie movement ❤

It’s super nice to see that makeup looks had eyeliner in them. Whenever I wear eyeliner I immediately get called emo, but every makeup trend or style comes back around eventually
For real? What year are you living in? Like, genuinely! I haven't heard anyone say that about someone wearing eyeliner since the late 2000's when I was in middle school!! This is so wild.
Honestly don't know of any makeup style that doesn't use eyeliner except maybe "no-makeup makeup" but even a lot of that uses eyeliner still, just more subtly.

I love that basically all generations growing up rebel against the older generation in some form like makeup, clothes, music, etc

I thought so, too. Iconic.
if I ever wore makeup, I'd wear it exactly like the London look ^_^
The London look is actually just called Mod make-up. That whole style is Mod. It was pioneered by the model Twiggy, it's her look.
