I only saw this performed once decades ago in Chicago with Rosalind Elias and, I think, Fritz Reiner conducting. I loved it so much that I bought an LP, long gone. Listening to it here again it has lost none of its appeal for me. Wonderful!

This music is much -much stronger than Debussy La Mer. This explains why Debussy was friend with Chausson who did this piece BEFORE Debussy did his La Mer
