This particular mission was very interesting to me... believe or not, it brought me to tears that I had a very very small glimpse of what my great grandfather saw there and wrote about in his memoir.
He fought on the Ottoman side of the war, for six months before he was ordered to move somewhere else. He described the Australian soldiers as big, strong and the bravest he had ever seen.
Respect to you, as a Aussie i can say that it was very brutal and i would never want anything to happen again to us and the ottomans. My Great great grandpa sore the war and i don’t think he would ever want that to happen again.
My great grandfather was in World War Two
When the New Zealanders would do their Haka (A maori performance) it apparently scared the Ottomans so much they retreated at a firefight but i don't have proof of the fight but I do know the Maori and New Zealanders did the Haka at the battle.

And radios Got invented in 1900
Actually they later did it with pigeons then radio
Basically the Allies used pigeons to send messages. But the Central Powers countered them with hawks. Then they used radios but the wires were destroyed by artillery fire. So they used runners. Either chosen or volunteered.
They had telegrams but they were not the most effective. Mainly used runners and messenger birds

1. The Gallipoli campaign was for the pommy interests
2. Kokoda actually was for the defence of Australia
3. Kokoda was (numerically) the greatest Australian victory in history.

Daniel Alexander Australian's were actually the best army in the world wars for how many men we killed to how many died we also captured and obtained more shit that most armies did, and almost every time they were out numbered, also numerous of inventions through out the wars which helped many allied countries. and we could have done so much more if the British weren't idiot, cause they didn't know how to use us, they basically just made are solders run up a hill of extreme gun fire constant, and yet are solders did more damage for how small are army was. plus after the wars America said if they ever when to war with us they said they could bomb us easily but if they ever came ours shores and fought guns against guns they'd never win. we were extremely overlooked for what we did with what we had.

Knives started to be used more, take as an example the Italian arditi who charged into enemy trenches just with their daggers. Overall, melee weapons started to become more popular and I think the war acquired even a bit of a medieval feel.

ozzzz1994 Anzac Day is a special day for all Australians because we pay respect to the fallen Anzacs and respect there courage and spirit which is known as the Anzac spirit. I still found the entire war between Turkey and Australia pointless are stupid government was just doing what ever the British told them to do I still think that if the Government used there heads all the Turkish and Anzac lives could have been avoided btw respect to the Turkish they were only following orders like the Australians but the Turkish soldiers still displayed courage and strength and should also be respected

they're at cape hellas where the british and other commonwealth troops landed, as far as i know anzacs weren't their we landed at the wrong place which ended up being anzac cove
