Very informative. Peggy Noonan has had a front row seat and opinion of 45 plus years of US politics and changes.

Thanks for bringing us Peggy Noonan today. I lived through these times--she still confirms and adds to my understanding of the times! (I probably was not a fan of hers at the time!)

I wish we'd seen Margaret's face when Peggy said, "You know he'll be speed-reading Thucydides." That was priceless.

What a pleasure to listen to an elegant writer and reporter, a lofty thinker. Peggy Noonan and Ted Sorenson crafted so poignantly, so perfectly the message that bridges, that translates between the populace and its leaders, Reagan and Kennedy respectively. Trump only has Twitter, oops Truth Social to roll out his message.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Noonan stated that the CBS behind-the-scenes staff were over joyed with Reagan’s election in 1980. Evidently, they were thinking he was on the side of the working stiffs. Reagan’s policies reverberate today by worsening income disparity. These same people are the ones who voted for Trump and he is not on their side either.

Correct where I'm wrong....the 70s were horrible economically because Jimmy Carter couldn't figure out how the economy works. So Reagan fills the void, we have major economic prosperity, we are strong on foreign affairs and America is rocking and rolling. BUT this was badddd for America?
What exactly was good about Jan 2021 to Oct 2024. Wars? High inflation? "Health" mandates? Low wages? Unemployment numbers constantly being revised worse?....I don't get it. I don't see how Trump is doing anything anti-thetical to doing the job of the President.
As an independent voter, what am I not seeing?

90% of interviews are given by people who are on a promotional tour for some new product they've made: movie, TV show, book, etc. It's mutually beneficial.
