+Black Warrior Lures - Bruce is using a tube fly needle. They are designed specifically for tying tube flies. They come in varying sizes to match the tubes you are using. +Black Warrior Lures The needles for tube flies are flat on two sides to prevent spinning on the vise or the tube rotating on the needle. That being said I wouldn't say that these would not work, I have just never tried them. If you give it a try, let us know how it goes for you.
