I traded for a 2016 R1200RT to lose almost 300 pounds and after 7 years downsized again to an F750GS. If its price is much cheaper I'd definitely buy it. As for people saying the goldwings is getting bigger that's bs. The new goldwings suck by my opinion they got smaller and more like a crotch rocket. I'm 6 ft 300 lbs and I ride a Yamaha venture vecause it's one if not the largest bike made currently. Not everyone wants a lightweight turd box. I'm willing to bet it will be a good bike I bought hyosung and though not highest quality they are reliable and quick for their size and easy to work in. I will always buy the larger bikes, cc matters vut like Harley they make bikes that are to short, and small and for larger guys like me they are uncomfortable so if this bike is reasonably priced and has the power to match id definitely give it a go. I'm excited to see it come to the market as many people will buy it regardless of what others say. People were like that decades ago over the Japanese market as well now folks prefer the Japanese market to American market based on quality price and power. Don't knock it till you tried it.

China is at quite an interesting place right now when it comes to motorcycles. On the one hand the motorcycle industry is really booming with all kinds of bikes, all kinds of displacement getting released seemingly every second with really competitive prices and some with properly decent quality and features. On the other hand, motorcyclists in China just don't have the same kind of right of way as 4 wheeled users, with a lot of cities imposing motorcycle bans or limits the usage of large displacement motorcycles (above 300cc), and prohibiting motorcyclist using the motorways and expressways. Car drivers in China in general also have less respect towards motorcycle users, thinking that they belong to the bike lane.

If you have a problem with current Goldwings some dealerships are making you wait weeks until the Goldwing mechanic comes to the shop. Now with Chinese bikes, who is going to service them? I imagine if these bikes are introduced you will see a huge aftermarket of upgrades to get these bikes up to spec. Manufacturers in China will save money anyway they can, putting my rear end on a Chinese bike for a cross country cruise would be a hard sell.

Motorcycle Sales are down worldwide. Cruisers are a luxury. Here in the United States Harley Davidson is number one, and currently Sales are flat. Indian sold only 30k total motorcycles for 2023. The motorcycle above will have a limited audience. Harley and Indian dominate with the dealerships and the aftermarket. The rest of the world is dominated by Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki etc. Good Luck😊

Lots of state of the market questions posed by this bike.... essentially, who is it for?
The aging biker population are stepping off ultra classics onto street glides and other baggers. Here in the UK, BSA and RE are pulling folks off their GSs for lighter bikes. So a bigger wing? Seems like a misstep. In many ways I'm surprised not to see a 1000cc mini-wing, or perhaps even Honda seeing a place for a redone ST11/1300 to sit alongside the NT.
But for non-western markets the market growth is away from basic 250cc transport towards a leisure based segment? Great Wall are probably looking to this as an aspiration model like Kia are doing with the Stinger

If they are putting it into production they must feel like it is ridable.
Being the Chinese it may be a copy of something that is proven to be reliable like they did with the dirt bikes.
Everyone is trying to tear them up, even putting them under water and still they crank up and run. Well them motors are exactly the motors that were on earlier KTM's and had a reputation of being very reliable.
Maybe they did like the chainsaws and copy to the exacting spec's of a Stile chainsaw and they run and last like a stile.
So maybe they stole and copied from the Gold wing to the point that the technology they are using is a proven technology by design already.
This is the Chinese and intellectual property does not mean anything to them and they will reverse engineer in a heartbeat.
As far as big being manageable Boss Hog has proven it to be achievable and handle like a typical motorcycle (somewhat)for a more experienced rider.
So not saying it's right but with there track record of copying with ill regards to any patents or license needed to do so makes me think if it didn't work they wouldn't be producing it.
Mexico is not as picky about that kind of thing as the U.S. is and also they probably are trying to figure out how to get around tariffs and taxes the U.S. may have on China at this time.

I had a 2013 Goldwing and the main reason I got rid of it was the insane weight. I never dropped it but everyone else who rode it did. There are probably many owners that haven't had issues with the weight but it's always there, ready to bite you in the ass.
I started looking at the new Goldwing now it's lighter, so for me a heavier Chinesium Goldbling is a definite no.
I have a Chinese bike btw, so I'm not anti Chinese bike.

Also, 1% of Chinese riders could stand over this and move it around with some level of skill because it's a massive engine with massive weight.

@Kevin-hp5fk is it xenophobic to imply that a country with a proven track record for poor quality control and lackadaisical labor laws miiiight not make the safest 8cylinder motorcycle? I think that's a pretty valid concern from a manufacturing quality standpoint.
Anecdotally: I had a Chinese bike and it was genuinely a death trap, there was NOTHING that felt comfortable or safe about that bike, and it was by far the most unreliable bike I've owned despite being brand new.
When he says shops won't work on them he clearly means brand-specific service centers (e.g. good luck filing warranties on CFMoto or Apollo). That is an objective fact as of now and presumably will not change anytime soon due to the immense cost of establishing a dealer network.

Here's the rub, Great Wall is a car/truck manufacturer with a lackluster reputation for reliability... even in China. By just jumping into making motorcycles spontaneously, I don't see this reputation getting better.
CFMoto is currently the most reliable, best made Chinese bike on the market. They are making international headway by beating the Japanese bikes in price and getting "close enough" on quality.
