- Getting a first job in Canada is difficult for new immigrants and it is even tougher in 2023 because of the market slowdown. Despite all the negativity and difficulty, I was able to get 4 job interviews in just 4 weeks after we landed in Canada and ultimately, I was able to land a job offer in my desired field. In this video series, I am going to share my job hunt experience and step-by-step guide with the hope that you can land your desired job asap. Hi Tanu.. wonderful briefing very informative.... There are many videos on best colleges for students in Canada for studying..... But really there are very rare videos on job opportunities in various colleges and universities for new immigrants with Ph.D is not found... I being MBA Ph.D holder from India would be reaching Canada next year... Still I stand clueless about job opportunities for me in teaching profession

Does canadian employers asks for job experience certificates or any other means of proof of employment? Also, do they provide the same when we resign a job in Canada?
Yes, job experience letter and last 2-3 salary slips would be required to show the employment proof. Canadian companies provide experience letter
When the job portals ask us to enter an address and phone number, is it suggested to put in a Canadian number and address even though you're not in Canada?
If you’re planning to land soon in a couple of weeks, put canada address otherwise India address.

@@sujitpjpt yes that happens quite often, that’s why it’s very rare to find a job before landing in Canada

Dear Tanu, if i give them a canadian no. And canadian address inspite of living in India... Wont that be a kind of cheating? And what if they call me for a face to face interview... Then what do i tell them?
Hey, it is a valid question. This is applicable when you’re planning to land soon and you can tell them that you’ve provided your Canadian phone number for ease of contact and you’re planning to land there soon. Then tell them that you’re ok to start with the interview discussions while you’re in India, if they’re ok with it. All the best
