As a multi stan i gotta say these stylists demanding copywrights on a fashion idea are ruining clothing artistry. Can you imagine painters of famous periods and styles insisting other painters to not use similar colors, textures, shading, brushstrokes? Art is art. Fashion inspiring other artists has been a thing forever. Trends wouldn’t exist without it. Dior’s new look was revolutionary and you can still find references to it within modern collections and on the streets. Imagine if Dior spent all their time going after everyone who referenced it? They’d have no time for anything else. I believe in creative rights and fashion designers deserve respect for the work (I’d be a hypocrite to say otherwise, considering I’m a hobby designer who creates bespoke pieces) but there is a limit to what you can say is entirely your own. We all reference others, consciously or subconsciously; art is not created in a vaccum.
I don’t think you understand the issue in this particular situation. Jisoo’s hanbok was a trademark design made especially for her by Kim Balko, the specific design of it was made from scratch by a team of designers who put months worth of effort into making it. The hanbok that Dahyun is wearing was chosen by the stylist who most likely bought it off of someone making cheap replicas. This isn’t an instance of them buying a hanbok that simply “uses similar colours and textures”, it’s quite literally a replica. That’s why it was cut from the video, people were upset with the stylist for using a blatant replica of a hanbok that was an ORIGINAL design SPECIFICALLY made for Jisoo by a team of people who put months worth of effort into it.

I guess I'm in the minority. I like the updated version more as I found it more visually consistent with the music. The swapping of outfits to me was a distraction. Not saying they didn't look good, but it just - again for me at least - didn't work as well. I guess IMHO JYP should have left them both up and let viewers decide which they preferred. In any event the Chae & Dahyun did a beautiful job on both the video and the song. Wish it was released on Spotify - would certainly be on a standard playlist.

Okay, for those who did not know.......the hanbok that they're wearing was the one that was designed for BlackPink...the problem was, the company that designed it did not put the custom one away; but placed it on the general use rack. Stylists use the same designers, so when JYPE's stylist came and ordered what they wanted, that custom hanbok was grabbed, not knowing that it was custom made. Now many of ya'll voiced that the stylist should have known that it was the one used by Blackpink.....but just because you are a part of the industry does not mean that you are cognizant of every aspect of the industry. It's like when fans laugh at an idol for not knowing another group's dance. Idols do not need to immerse themselves into all of K-pop. So, yes, styles and clothing can be reused without prior knowledge. Especially when the costume came when ordered. Stuff like this happens and it's just part of the industry. Oh god, please inform yourself. BLACKPINK's stylist was the one who complained about her work appearing in a project she had not worked on. That hanbok was personalized and only Jisoo could wear it (to make you realize how important it was, she was awarded in Korea for her work) JYPE used that hanbok illegally, and as I said before, it was the same stylist who claimed her intellectual property. You guys love having fanwars, don't you?

That specific hanbok was copyrighted. BLACKPINK's stylist designed it just for Jisoo. JYPE is committing plagiarism (a CRIME) by using that hanbok without the stylist's permission. It's not Dubchaeng's fault, nor Jisoo's, nor even blink's fault. It's the stylist's and JYPE's fault for plagiarizing that custom hanbok

Okay, for those who did not know.......the hanbok that they're wearing was the one that was designed for BlackPink...the problem was, the company that designed it did not put the custom one away; but placed it on the general use rack. Stylists use the same designers, so when JYPE's stylist came and ordered what they wanted, that custom hanbok was grabbed, not knowing that it was custom made. Now many of ya'll voiced that the stylist should have known that it was the one used by Blackpink.....but just because you are a part of the industry does not mean that you are cognizant of every aspect of the industry. It's like when fans laugh at an idol for not knowing another group's dance. Idols do not need to immerse themselves into all of K-pop. So, yes, styles and clothing can be reused without prior knowledge. Especially when the costume came when ordered. Stuff like this happens and it's just part of the industry. Fans need to stop making such big deal out of mistakes that have been made and have been corrected.

A designer custom-made, modernized hanbok for blackpink's jisoo and the hanbok Dahyun is wearing looks identical to the one designer made. Fans and the designer weren't happy about it so the company had to remove the hanbok part.
