(I may be wrong about this) I noticed that the square bullets seem to move in more of a zig-zag, whereas the circles seem to move in a more smooth side to side pattern. just something I noticed.
It is in fact random, its just so well made it looks like its aiming on you. He could of just go up, but instead he went down, were it was programmed to aim. So they pretty much had to guess where are you going.
