  • Forgive the horrible green screen. It was my first try with it. 😂

I’ve been out for almost 27 years. I still miss the singing, the high of the worship services, and the sense of community! Then I remember the hate, the intolerance, the control, the abuse, the disparity between teaching and practices, the way the church took so many good things and weaponized them against their own members, and I remember all the reasons why I left, and I am so happy that I came to my senses and got out!

This experience is well documented and exists since the tribal days of humanity...
To me, an born always been Atheist....this is one of the things about churches that freak me out....the unhinged cultish screaming, spasms, talking in tongues etc behavior of a group of people...

You are exactly describing a rave. Like the EDM, Molly and LSD kind.
I liked the EDM kind better.

"25 members beatin' the hell out of tambourines!" I understand what you mean, bro! I totally get it! I have so much to thank God for that I cannot be exuberant enough. Your ending is kind of sad. You don't say what went wrong. I think I know. All too often the churches that are judgmental, uneducated and dysfunctional allow unleashed praise. Their good music is all that keeps people there. I cannot feel close to God there. But you can find healthy spiritual churches that do allow the praise you are talking about. They are hard to find, but it is truly wonderful in every way. Thanks for telling it how it is.

I think that the church is about other people and communities, that is what I miss sometimes.
Great video thanks for your videos.

I've heard other former Christians/now atheists speak about missing the community and fellowships of church service.
Have a party of your own...learn to play an instrument and rock out to your own music!

Personally, I've never liked hearing singing when the person can't sing.
Hence never watching American Idol (the tryouts for the judges).

Just watched a video by you and this one my second one and dang, you're an atheist as well. I hate feeling all alone in the areas I live, mostly the Ozarks (which I love the country dislike the politics, love the Christian, dislike the doctrine. Thanks for existing man, unlike a god. Or at least I'm no longer believing the claim. Hard atheist with Yahweh and agnostic atheist with others. Peace

Religion has had thousands of years to find out how to manipulate us. Dancing alone can release amazing feelings, that's why every culture dances.
