I’ve noticed a lot of them throughout the video promoting programmes introduced by the Circles (eg: Robin Hood) So, therefore, this video is from their last day of operation: October 6th, 2006. Another hint of the air date of these clips: the ident introducing the Weather. The phrase “If you like dancing..” is clearly referring to the final montage of idents played at 07:27.

Like a lot of people, certain idents and images take you back to certain times. I remember most if not all of these. Even some 14 years after they left the screen, I feel personally that most of them are cringey. I think only Capoeira, Ballet, Skateboarders and Acrobats ones come away with dignity. Another annoying feature - although this was present during the Balloon era and on both BBC One and Two - was the tendency of announcers to refer to lead into a programme by solely talking about something else later on and nothing about what was coming up immediately. Not to mention, of course, that these idents outlasted the Balloons themselves. There is no justice lol.
I still have dignity. If you pause the video at 0:42, that's me in the track top right above the BBC one logo 🙂👍 (Radio One Road Show after-party Koola Bar, Newquay Cornwall)
@@larryjimbob Is that really you? Well, this is awkward for me hahaha! It was the way the idents were executed that made them cringey in my opinion. Though, having said that, I do retain a slight soft spot for them and they are better than Oneness (though that's not saying much lol). Hey, if you had a good time, who am I to argue haha :)
Loved these idents. Very diverse and nostalgic at the same time

Do you have the Holiday Snaps programme that the first ident was leading in to?
Sorry I'm afraid not, I only recorded the idents!
Yippee
Why did BBC One not show The Haka Ident when they played The “Rhythm And Movement” Idents for the final montage?
Haka had already been withdrawn from use by this time.
@@desandmick When was The Haka Ident withdrawn then?
@@georgecollins2412 I'm not sure exactly, it's thought to be around mid-2005.

@@ITVWeatherFans Somebody else mentioned they were in that ident and that it was filmed in an airfield outside London, so something doesn't add up!
@@merlinmediagroup Ah, interesting! I wasn't there so can only go on anecdotes and any info people have.
