There is no cutting corners with these rolls- they take some time, but the result is beyond worth it! I’ve been making these rolls since the early 2010’s and they’ve been my #1 ever since. What makes these rolls so dream worthy is that there is a cream cheese-butter mixture that is layered in the actual dough which takes the richness to another level.

Recipe
For the Dough
1 package active dry yeast
1/4 cup plus 1/2 tsp. Sugar
1/2 cup whole milk
2 tablespoons light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg
1 egg yolk
2 3/4 cups flour (plus more for kneading)
3/4 tsp salt
8 tablespoons butter, at room temperature
For the Filling
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
1/4 cup raisins
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
3 tablespoon maple syrup
5 oz cream cheese, at room temperature
3 tablespoons butter, at room temperature
Extra butter, melted for spreading on top of dough and on top of cooked cinnamon rolls- about 4-6 tablespoons
Cream Cheese Frosting
8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
4 tablespoons salted butter, room temperature
3.5 cups powdered sugar

I used the cream cheese mixture in another recipe except I had to use margarine it was a little messy but it worked out pretty well. Rolling the cream cheese into the dough is a game changer imo. TFS sweetie 😘😘😋😋

Is the icing the same as frosting
The frosting is what I put on at the very end after they are done cooking, which consists of cream cheese, butter, and powdered sugar. The cream cheese-butter layer that is layered into the dough is just cream cheese and butter, no sugar. Thanks for watching!! 🫶

I had to add almost 5 cups of flour or just had soupy dough! Still rising so not such how they will turn out. Threw away the first batch of dough
