The people running these HA should be as well , sadly they have a cested interest in keeping drug dealers in these units. Corruption of Housing Authority through their own greed

i lived at decker from 2007 to 2011, it was hell then, i moved there after i was convinced that it would be supportive and id be able to get services and such, get employment assistance etc. ( no, nothing i was told was true at all ) mostly untreated un-monitored mentally ill, some elderly, and some genuinely disabled folks, but most of them are mentally ill, they are addicts, there are a lot of folks who do not bathe, they stink they go around being gross and spreading germs and disease, a lot of drinking and drugs, a added bonus; the street out front is very loud, as they do not enforce noise ordinances from modified vehicles that are loud for sake of being loud, i got out and never looked back it is sad but it does not surprise me that its gone from horrible to deplorable, i improved my health and fitness, im fully independent and working; and i will never allow myself to go back into those type situations ever again, good luck to everyone ther, i hope you guys will apply for other subsidized apartments and get something better, they do exist, trust me, being a prisoner of your own home is not safe, nor is that something anyone should ever just roll over and accept as a fate !

That's why most Vermont towns say no to new low income housing

that is why most towns in the US in general do not like to allow subsidized or low income housing in any of the halfway decent areas, its unfortunate because there are good people who do not deserve to live in ghettos and slums, but because of the many decades long bad-rap low income housing has gotten and the clientele it often does attract has ruined it for those perfectly good decent folks who need a little help here n there and they deserve a quality of life and a chance .

And due to that, Vermont remains in the top two safest states in the country. No projects, no blacks, no crime.

@@jonathanfalvo2414 oh its gotten worse in recent years i have an acquaintance that lives in the area and she said the crime, the drugs, the mentally ill on the streets just keeps getting worse. its not the tenderloin, or south side of Chicago, but its a complete 180 from what it was in say, the 80s, the mid to late 90s. or even early 2000s.
