Radcliffe's commitment to that dance and the level of embarrassing action required by the script completely dwarf the famous scene in Risky Business that people routinely give Tom Cruise accolades for.

@@vicj2141 True, but many actors who work well from scripts are uncomfortable and unable to speak effortlessly on chat shows. Our Mr. Radcliffe shines.
I remember when the Miracle Workers episode where Dan sings and dances first came out. My husband and I sat with eyes and mouths wide open! And then we burst out laughing. Yes, because it was funny, but it was also great! The makeup and outfit were just perfect! His singing was amazing and so American! It was a highlight to our night. We found it on TH-cam… if it was on actual video tape we would have warned it out!! Every now and then we bring it up. It’s like the first time we saw it. It doesn’t get old!! Thank you, Daniel Radcliffe for always topping yourself.. for your humor, your fantastic acting and for being a great, humble person! And thank you, Stephen Colbert for a great talk show. You beat the rest!!
I had to (got to?) play Oregon Trail as part of my intermediate school Gifted & Talented class in the 5th grade, way back in 1985. Somehow I was elected team leader, and we plotted and planned and made all the right decisions and got lucky at all the right times, and made it all the way to the last pass over the mountains into the plains of Oregon without losing a single solitary member of our party and with just enough food to get us to the finish line plus a bit extra for contingencies. And then we drew the CRAP! card and everyone in our party died during a freak avalanche at the top of the pass. But nobody died of dysentery, so I guess I have that to hold on to, 36 years later.🤬🥶🤬🥶🤬🥶🤬☠️
We played it in our history class I think in 1980. I was a D&D player at the time (my older brother was the DM and invented many of his own scenarios) so our team kind of played it like that, as a big adventure, and took all kinds of stupid risks which annoyed the teacher. What was even worse for him was we were the only team that actually survived the entire way so I'm not sure it taught the lesson they hoped it would!
I played it in gifted class too! Everyone hated me because I got to leave regular class to do that and all kinds of things that didn’t further my education at all!

But you can ask anyone who's ever been associated with me if I'm a racist, and I'm absolutely positive that they would say that I am definitely not a racist.
Love this guy, always smiling, always enthusiastic, brilliant actor.
That dance scene sold me on how far he's willing to go for the comedy. Loved it.
You should watch the three seasons. He's really good at comedy!
I do love when guests salute John and the band. Very classy :)
Dan is a class act! I always hear nice things about him
Gotta love Daniel Radcliffe. He's still so so down to earth despite being the star of easily one of the largest film franchises EVER and he's just doing stuff for fun now and still so lovely
His habit of giving the names of the people he works with is awesome. Honestly gives credit where it belongs and thats admirable
Listening to Radcliffe in interviews makes me REALLY hope that he gets a late night talk show presenter position later on in his career. I think he could be a *great* interviewer.
A Graham Norton sort of career only with less booze.
@@NotEnoughBooks Yes, please.
I doubt that would interest him.
@@LafemmebearMusic You're saying that choosing to be friends with people who think differently than you makes you exactly like them? I mean, its not exactly advisable but its not a logical argument, either. Why don't you choose something that really matters to post about, like climate change.
@@LafemmebearMusic wow, so you wipe all people out of your life when they don’t wholly agree with you. Now that is what I call being bigoted. Just a couple of steps back from being racist. I do not see anything in what is quoted that indicates he is racist and is, in fact, calling out people who are. Can I encourage you to maybe re-examine your statement and understand how it perpetuates intolerance.
You can tell Daniel's face is a bit red after watching the clip of him dancing on Miracle Workers. Bless, he's absolutely adorable.
Never in a million years did I imagine that I would see Harry Potter playing a Western-male stripper. But here we are.
If you watch Queen's Gambit on Netflix you'll see Dudley Dursley portray an American Chess prodigy!
@@gollumandeowyn really? Wow! I guess Harry Potter was such a defining cultural touchstone for millennials that we just can’t see past anything else the young cast has done. (The older cast of course already had great credentials to begin with)
He played the lead in the play Equus which is a story about a young man who is sexually obsessed with horses. There’s a nude scene I’m not even going to describe here. You’d need to read the play. It’s brilliant.
@@mohamedfaizan9844 he had a massive body of work including 3 Broadway plays.
@@debshaw680 I did hear about the Broadway plays, though of course sitting here in India, one can only dream of watching a Broadway show :-). I saw Daniel Radcliffe in some very underwhelming movies after Potter, and I was thinking he is gonna end up with the Mark Hamill curse, you know - played such an iconic character that you can never get another decent job again coz no one can see you as anything else.
Glad that prediction didn’t come true.
Daniel Radcliffe is such a gem. I always enjoy watching him. His dance is such a delight, I had it on loop for 2 days straight.
Daniel really seems like such a sweet actor, and I'm glad he seems to be having fun with his new works. 💖 :)
I know you all will continue to support him and I know this will at the very least sit in the back of you all’s heads now and you have to make a conscious decision to run away from it.

You sound like a child determined to try and spoil everything for anyone else - just stop.
Radcliffe's commitment to that dance and the level of embarrassing action required by the script completely dwarf the famous scene in Risky Business that people routinely give Tom Cruise accolades for.
Shout out to Job Batiste and Stay Human for that lovely an fitting version of 'Oh Danny Boy'
That's kinda cool. I always wonder if they play a choice tune depending on the guest, but I rarely recognise any music. Thanks for mentioning the title.
Batiste is the man
For those of us who are older, Danny Thomas also used this song as his theme.
I've heard Dan hates being called Danny though
That was so beautiful, I didn't want it to end!!
Pretty excited Dan referenced Jean Brodie. That's where I fell in love with Maggie Smith and her incredible eyes. It is sheer coincidence she got to play one of the best characters in the HP series.
Not a coincidence. Who would be your first choice of that character and who did you see in your mind while reading the books?
The jazzy rendition of “Danny Boy” as he walked in was absolutely amazing.
Miracle workers is so freaking underrated. Season 1 was so awesome, and Steve Buscemi was so funny. Dark ages was my favorite season so far and Daniels character is so outright hilarious. I’m really liking Oregon trail so far as well
Daniel Radcliffe delivers an example of a very friendly but consistent refusal of an unpleasantly intrusive and insistent request from an interviewer. An object lesson for interview coaches. That's how you do it!

Daniel is the most down to earth celebrity I have ever seen, I love him so much
He is a treasure. Been following his career since HP and never regretted it. Not just a great actor but an amazing person 🤍
Harry’s beard/hair grooming = *chef’s kiss*
As he matures, Dan reminds more and more of another great talent, Hugh Jackman. They both have worked in blockbuster movies and smaller independent movies, some TV and especially musical theater. Great fun!
wait. . . like wolverine, hugh jackman?
amazing!
I love how quarky hes become hes truly a gift hope to watch Daniel Radcliffe for years to come
Quirky? I like his quirkiness, too! 😉
I love how he shows his quirkiness now too
He seems like a nice person

I'll add punctuation to the list. I could barely read it. I had to go through twice.
Daniel seems like such a good guy, bet he's a lot of fun to hang out with. I think it's endearing that he's obviously a little nervous as well, always kept that humbleness about him. What a fun interview
The dance scene is very good, big Tim Curry vibes.
So true, not just anyone can pull that off ❤️
Ok if they ever do a reboot of TRHPS, dan needs to up the top of the list
I felt those Frank N. Furter vibes, too!
@@LafemmebearMusic how does that make HIM racist? Guilt by association?
@@LafemmebearMusic Well dang. That's a strange crowd. Hope he doesn't practise the same misanthropic ideologies like his friends
Miracle workers is a great show. I binged watched all the current episodeds and am absolutely hooked
It’s finally on Hulu? Thank you. I can’t wait to watch
The new season is absolutely the best of them all.
The other seasons are great too... love it! Totally unique
Just did the same thing - I feel like it's filling a 'The Good Place' size hole in my heart
@@thomlinford 🤣
I grew up Mormon, playing Oregon Trail on an Apple IiC. I don’t recall the dancing-in-drag portion of the game, but you have sufficiently renewed my interest, Mr. Radcliffe 😊
It's a secret cut scene, kind of tricky to get but totally worth it.
He is really a multitalented man.I mean he can act, sing, rap, dance. He is also executive producer of his show and in few years he is going to direct a movie and more than that a good human being 🥺 proud to be his fan 🙌 keep shining dan ❤
I will never in all my days get tired of watching him Vogue
I watched Daniel's dance scene on Miracle Workers and found my mouth hanging open in a combination of shock and disbelief...and a "Oh my" at the end! 🤗
Love Daniel. So funny and charismatic, it’s so great that we have been able to see that side of him beyond HP
Thanks for being an example of kindness and humility Daniel.
How awesome would be a movie with Daniel Radcliffe and Elijah Wood. Maybe as brothers. It would confuse the heck out of the audience. :D
For years I’ve thought they should do Tale of Two Cities. It would be epic.
A comedy crime city caper
would be cool with the two of them
And Toby McGuire
There was a hilarious suggestion someone made a while back of a superhero movie with supervillain Elijah Wood, played by Daniel Radcliffe, and his evil minion Daniel Radcliffe, played by Elijah Wood.
I am still shocked people think they look alike. I have never seen it
He’s just so genuine and honest about who he is. I absolutely love Daniel even more now. Thanks for the AMAZING interview!
He is the perfect guest, really.
He grew up in front of a camera.
@@vicj2141 True, but many actors who work well from scripts are uncomfortable and unable to speak effortlessly on chat shows. Our Mr. Radcliffe shines.
He is so down to earth. He's funny as hell. I like his little dance too💝
He is such a sweetheart, what a lovely man
Could totally see Daniel play Frank n furter in rocky Horror show

Yes he would be amazing as soon as I saw that I thought it
I always say: I respect celebrities when they acknowledge the band.
He is absolutely adorable and such a versatile actor!! So impressed by him
I remember when the Miracle Workers episode where Dan sings and dances first came out.
I knew a little girl back then who gave all of her travelers the same name. That way, she just about always had at least one survivor.
Wow!
I remember that game……. I was too young and didn’t like it because everyone always died very quickly 🤣
Dan’s haircut and beard are doing good work here.
Radcliffe: "I don't even want to play this game"
The World: Sends waves of Monopoly, Battleship, Connect Four, Hungry Hungry Hippos...
Yeah, that IS a list of games no one should want to play.
You have no idea!
All I can say: I deeply and honestly wish this interview had lasted way longer. I could listen to Radcliffe talking for HOURS.
he's still that gigly, goofy, funny dan....i really love him so very much
Why does this guy cheer me up so much? And so does his dance. He's great
"Jim, can we give them a taste of his dancing?" *TH-cam inserts a TACOBELL AD instead of letting me watch the iconic dance scene
Lol...I got Geico
I also got the posh-speaking gecko... for a second I thought, Damn Daniel got range!
🧐😲😆
As any girl of my age, I had a bit of a crush on Daniel during the Potter days. It is so great to see he grew up to be such a cool and quirky guy.
I absolutely love DR. This interview made my morning amazing. He's such a good soul. And he's got such range. I'm always impressed how far he's come.
What a joy to see that he’s grown into a lovely, beautiful man, and a delightful human being.
A great actor and a great human.
I am glad Daniel Radcliff had fun doing that dance. It was SO funny watching. He's just a JOY!
I'm not sure how anyone could not love Daniel Radcliffe. I've been on a run of all his work lately & he's just so brilliant, both as an actor and as a person. And he is like this sexy man now! 😍 I've developed a pretty big crush! I loved the audience's reaction after he talked about his girlfriend - that was so sweet! She is one lucky girl!
The look on Daniel’s face when Stephen says ‘Alan Rickman’ made me pause the video for a bit and take a few deep breaths.
Gary Oldman is a very good first person to be Starstruck by. He's one of the most underrated actors of all time
But I just love how fitting that whole set up was because it is exactly like Sirius and Harry.
What a lovely person! Take your pick it applies to everyone on this video : Daniel, Stephen, Jean-Baptist
Jon Batiste killed it with the band on the intro. ❤️

I have always loved Daniel he has become such a wonderful adult. He is so British and awkward and I love it.
I love the touch of the band playing "Oh Danny Boy" as he enters the set
Miracle Workers is fucking hilarious. Love the current season
Daniel is so down to earth and real, he's not trying to be anything other than himself.
Daniel is so awkward and hilarious and perfect and fun and it's absolute magic ❤️ I think after appearing naked on stage in front of hundreds of people 8 times a week for months, you're pretty much up for anything. And the close up tooshi shake was a bonus 😆
I think Daniel Radcliffe should play John Oliver in the John Oliver action movie called John Oliver: Man of Actions🤔
I LOVE this idea!!!
Yes! Hilarious! John would love it! 🤣🤣🤣
i love the fact that he tries all these roles, what a great actor! 👏
It's so good to see Daniel; I've missed seeing him on late night talk show run. I actually watched David Copperfield during the pandemic, he was amazing at 9 years old. Tore at the heartstrings as young David. I've watched everything he's been in (post- Potter) including last year's "Guns Akimbo" which was WILD - he cracked me up in this movie. And "Miracle Workers" is an hilarious dark and crazy ride, I have loved every season so far. I hope to see season 4! Looking forward to seeing him on the big screen next year. Funny, intelligent, kind - Dan is my dude! Adore him! ❤ 😊 He's rocking that beard and he's a cutie! 😊
