For anyone who doesn't know, 'tonging' in 'The Wellerman' is term for butchering a whale on shore. The one in the song is so large that it's taking a long time.
I am slightly jealous or envious. As a kid, I didn't get a full set of sea shanties as regular entertainment. We got other more politically charged songs which we ended up memorizing more or less because we heard them all the time. Sea Shanties are FUN with no politics involved. That is a great thing. Entertainment for the sake of entertainment, instead of bashing one side or the other. :)
I feel most of the time you need to watch each video 5 times or more just to catch everything. Sometimes I watch one person at a time then I listen again and watch the next person. It's hard to catch everything in some of their videos. Honestly, I don't mind listening to the song 100 times lol
I agree, I listen the 1st time just to get some of the giddiness over with, then the next 100 times watching reactors, gleefully waiting for the juicy parts that they have no idea are coming. Everything after the 100th time is purely my obsession with their abilities to still keep my interest after having heard the song so many times. This group of men are so special!

Adam is always trying to add something new to his extensive repertoire of percussion sounds. My question is, does that technically qualify as a musical instrument? I'm seeing them in concert in November, my first concert, and I'm very excited! Second row, center! I hope it's not cancelled or rescheduled.

I believe this is the first time you have gotten to hear Chance sing too. All the other ones he was running bass guitar line or not in it due to being older videos. You can see how his voice helps bring a full sound to the group. If you have heard him sing previous, my bad 😂.
