    I’m actually not super comfortable with giving out tips like this! Because in the end I just feel like there’s really no right or wrong. And something that works great for me, might not work at all for you. So I feel a bit uneasy, when I go into this teaching position or whatever I’m doing. But wanted to try something new. And as I personally think and I know a lot of you also think, I design, at least good car models. I thought I’d could share some stuff, that helped myself a lot, to design better Lego models. But let me know what you think of the video!

    Some great tips there David! I really like hearing other people's perspectives on building and such, because I find I get stuck to one way of thinking quite often when building LEGO. Like how you said to re-use parts from your old models, that's something I didn't think about but I really should do because I'm running out of money for parts 😅 Also, there's a LEGO blog called New Elementary, they make lots of articles on new parts and how they can be used, and weird existing parts also, it definitely adds to your parts awareness to take a look through there now and then!

      Thank you so much once again Cole!😊 I really really agree with you that it’s so interesting and helpful to see other creators way of thinking. And it’s something I would like to see a lot more of. Hadn’t actually heard of that blog before, that sounds extremely helpful. Will absolutely check it out.

    Love this! Totally on point here with the recycling of parts: it's a great way to keep the prototypes flowing.
    Plus, with programs such as Studio and LDD, no MOC has to ever truly be gone :D

    No reason to feel uncomfortable when your tips seem to be opposite to one another, cause in those there’re may lay the deeper truth and deeper equilibrium, like yin-yang, and that’s a good thing.

    On that final tip-
    I'm rekindling my love of lego. While reorganizing, I'm building a model Dodge Hellcat- coming home from work, sitting on the floor, getting high and drinking lemonade until I go to bed. The most relaxed I've been in a very long time

    These tips are so good! Well, I knew all of them before hand (I've been seriously building lego mocs for like 3 years now and just playing around with lego for like 9 years). I'd like to emphasize one of your points, which is to use the pieces you currently have. Many people overlook this tip and don't pay attention to it but it's one of the most important things when it comes to lego. It's good to build online however you should try as much as possible to build in real life with the bricks that you have until you become the master of those bricks. Once you've done that, you can build online pretty easily and because you already have an extensive knowledge about your own bricks it's easy to learn about and apply former knowledge to new bricks that you don't have in real life. If you do this, you'll see you pack a lot more complexity into your builds, and if you ever decide to make instructions, people can actually make your mocs in real life. If you only build online, there may be illegal techniques used in which bricks intermerge with each other, which are not recreatable in real life. Also, if you build in real life, since tou have an understanding of it you'll be able to use techniques which may appear to not be feasable online and make the bricks appear to be interlapped.

      @bricksblocksandmocs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much for that thought through comment! Yeah you can really come a long way by working with only the bricks you. It makes you think through stuff one or two extra times, which almost always, at least for me, ends up with a much more well developed model!

    • @aaronvector4750
      @aaronvector4750 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bricksblocksandmocs yes! It's even better if you design a build with a particular piece in mind, but you don't have that piece, so you have to improvise, an you make much better alternatives, and sometimes you may even discover a whole new style etc of building!

    I don’t really take inspiration from other bills a lot of the time if I see something I will try to use it if it’s a good technique, but that’s rare if I really can’t figure something out and I rarely get set and I used to destroy them all so then now that I wish I didn’t destroy them. I was bad about that because mocks out of that like I had a skyline and I just destroyed it and I’m trying to turn into a Camaro, which is taking a long time.😊😊😊😊

    Great set of tips. I build a lot of lego technic and I am glad there are not as many technic pieces available compared to lego in general. It's amazing when you get stuck there always some way of doing it. 🙃

      Will absolutely do that sometime in the future, it’s already on the list of requests. Unfortunately it’s only one or two people that requested it so far. But personally, I really like it and that along with the MP4-12c are really the only Mclarens I actually like, as I’m not really a huge Mclaren fan.

      It’s one of the cars that’s been the absolute most requested lately. Along with the MK4 Supra (which I’m currently creating), the F40 and Veyron. So might do the Miata after the MK4 Supra. If I can find a good solution for the pop-up headlights.
