I remember when I was there everyone called it a "police station". I used to get my hair cut near one high wall. I didn't even know it was a prison until much later.
In Cantonese, Chai Goon = Police Station and Dai Ook = Big House Tai Kwun is closer to Chai Goon than Dai Ook (and probably a spelled by a Westerner since the Ts sound isn't in English so he put Tai)
Adam L. Thanks for pointing that out. I purposely use the term because in US, the “Big House” is a colloquial for Federal prison. I was trying to convey the colloquial nature of the term Dai Goon😇
BakerStreetDet and decent people also allow people to have an opinion and rights. The CCP is not one of these people - and by the sounds you are also in this category

They pointing out this documentary to tell the protesters that this will be their new "home".
Considering how it looks like right now, that doesn't sound so bad.
Indeed.
Gonna be so many "monuments" in America too.
Not just HK, Malaysia have prison museum in Melaka
Wow I’m early, I’m getting creeped out by the background music lolololololol
Tai Kwun literally translate to the”Big House” not police station 😅

I’ve been there it’s actually really cool if you don’t think about the dark past
Oh ok
Uhhhhhhh
hong kong prisons still have 3 basic diets. South Asia, Asian and Western. people trade parts of their meals for cigerettes
uh… I remember there was a abandoned beer factory ruin revived as a great bar plaza in GZ... wow that was awesome
the thing is, what kind of government would like to revive this type of ruin/old place... suspicious
like the whole economy rised from that little old ruin… creepy but awesome
The prison definitely might be haunted
Definitely might be? Hmmm....
colonial n slavery period.
that was when the British took over HK for like 99 years…
Ooooooh I love hong kong history
Sangat tertarik
Is this a virtual home tour for the rioters?
BakerStreetDet wumao
Dan Chang decent people aren’t wumao, get your pathetic life together
BakerStreetDet and decent people also allow people to have an opinion and rights. The CCP is not one of these people - and by the sounds you are also in this category
Dan Chang my compelling argument got deleted by TH-cam, censorship happens in the west, too. You need to wake up
Dan Chang
Because protestors OBVIOUSLY give people opinions and rights by beating up and igniting people who oppose them.
dyall think the UK lead Hong Kong very well?
I have been there

Cool
Aaand here comes the prisons and black jails.

Just asking. I think someone will be faster than me so I am just asking
Hong kong is a independent country
It's not a country it's a city
@@Fatima-ayaan ok it wil be a independent city or country..
@@viratsblog1608 it actually can't be independent because it barely produces anything that allows it to be self sustainable
@@viratsblog1608 yea sure, who tf gonna give food and fresh water? India?
@@Koric135 I don't think so. They can barely feed themselves.
