Flawless performance. These ladies are showing the kids of the industry how to perform without all the extra vocal acrobats, vocoder machines, or voice enhancing software.
LABELLE: PATTI, NONA & SARAH. As Nona has said, Patti has a once in a lifetime voice. The women who were partnerd with her for well over 10 years are absolutely celebrated and gifted in their own right. But man, when they get together...MAGIC! Their reunion BACK TO NOW, was as underrated as almost all of their lp's were at first. Pick it up!.
I hope alot of aspiring singers and current singers watch this performance. This is a testament of how you should sing and how you should sound....Great performance.
I always have a special event, that reminds me of the Holiday Season, and for 2008 this will be my special memory. I don't care that it wasn't the best they did, I just love seeing them together again.

10/13/2018.........She's gotta older, that's all. And the voice changes every 7 years......so though it's STILL STRONG AND POWERFUL, she is now 74 years YOUNG....this was done 10 years ago (Hard to believe that much time has past already) and that VERY TOP range of hers has changed. But SHE IS STILL MAMA PATTI and can't NOBODY come for her!!
Big Meach I agree!! Also, as you get older, you can sometimes lose octaves but still maintain power. Look at powerhouse herself mama Shirley Caesar!! To reach a lot of her octaves, she has to push harder. Sometimes you will notice the guy in the background sing a lot of her leads. But don’t ever get it twisted 😂 Patti and Shirley can still shut it down 😂😂 take care my friend
10/13/2018.....Health reasons and medications have caused Sarah to gain a lot of weight, but SHE IS STILL HERE ALIVE AND WELL WITH THAT IMPECCABLE VOICE!!! SHE IS TRULY MY BIG SISTAH!!!!
If head voice is the easy way of getting out of a note than there would be no such thing as opera. Having a great head voice is just as hard as high octave belting. Also head voice and falsetto aren't the same thing. ANY classically trained person can tell you that. And if using "falsetto" means it's time to retire Mariah and MANY other singers wouldn't have ever had a career.
First of all this very same night Patti was upstaged when they did the finale and the light skinned dude on the piana went higher than Patti and Debrorah Cox looked right into the camera because she peeped it. There have plenty of times Jennifer Hudson was screaming at Patti, the GLAAD awards,Patti's B-Day Bash,etc and I've seen Chaka out belt Patti TWICE. Regina Bell kept up w/Patti when they did Motown live and Patti did all her trademark WHOO'S and screams. I can go on. Research!
Patti is not the worlds only soprano lol there are others and in her late 60’s and now her early 70’s Patti has opted for the falsetto soprano quite often!!! But neither that light skin boy, Chaka or Jennifer will have or have HAD the powerful soprano belting presence of a YOUNG or OLD Patti Labelle! HER voice is once in a lifetime forreal! We ain’t talking bout a few notes here or there! Thousands of performances over 50 years she has proven that no voice fills the room like hers!

Her voice seemed to peak around that time. She was at her best at that point
