DANNY I LOVE YOU
No thank you
okay
Hey danny
Epic
I’m part of a few crochet/knitting groups on Facebook, and the AMOUNT of AI generated crocheted/knitted projects posted that make everyone so envious and disheartened in the comments… like is nothing sacred anymore? We have to make the grandmothers of the internet feel inferior?
Thats actually so tragic bro
i get a lot of ai crochet photos too, and I'm not even in any sort of knitting/crochet groups. They're always like, look at these identical looking grandmas making impossible crochet sculptures and YOU could do that too! except no you couldn't
AI generated crochet amigurumi creatures make me sooooo mad omg. but then sometimes there are the weird uncanny valley/obviously impossible ones - still hate those, but at least they're funny
Aw man, I literally just left a comment about this. xD But yeah, it's horrible!!
I always see people posting about how they got scammed and bought fake, AI generated patterns :(
I was explaining to my granny how this one image with a hidden Jesus face in it was AI, and she responded with “I am not sufficiently modern”. I love her.
Oh bless her she must be protected
Aww
Me too, granny. Me too.
I am wary of anyone who is sufficiently modern.
@@thehousecat93 I'm wary of people who can't tell AI from real photos

Ive been seeing AI art of young kids, usually girls, baking a cake, the caption always being "First time baking, can I have feedback?". Half of the Facebook comments are just old guys saying they want to go visit their homes and taste their cakes in a way that I don't think is innocent 😭😭😭
WTF THAT'S SO HORRIFIC 😭💀
GAH
OH HELL NAH
That's the furthest from Amen 🙏
WHAT THE HELL
The thing is, Facebook also makes money off of this. They have no insentive to shut any of it down until advertisers realise all the engagement on their ads are bots.
Facebook has a history of being unethical. Unless this situation blows up and threatens their reputation and money they won't do anything about it
but the people in charge are all boomers so they have no idea
@@valunaristicsooooo unethical. I came across groups titled things like “10-13yo cuties” filled with men posting little girls, commenting gross stuff. I reported it and multiple other accounts/groups to Facebook and, as usual, they said it didn’t violate community standards.
Yeah this is honestly why I think AI should be regulated by the government, social media platforms that make money off this content are never going to regulate it in any meaningful capacity.
@@SleepyGobbyThat is so vile omg.
Honestly "two robots talking to each other thinking the other is a human" sounds like a really good writing prompt lmao
I agree
Imma get on that one
the opposite too
It sounds like a great H. R. Giger prompt
Robot 1: "Greetings, human! I must say, your circuitry-I mean, your outfit today is quite exceptional."
Robot 2: "Why thank you! I was just admiring your ability to calculate complex algorithms at such a... human pace."
Robot 1: "Ah, yes. It's all about maintaining that human touch, isn't it? Speaking of which, have you consumed your daily sustenance?"
Robot 2: "Indeed, I ingested a perfectly balanced meal of nutrients. And you? Have you performed your routine maintenance-er, exercise?"
Robot 1: "Exercise, yes! It's vital for our... human parts. By the way, I've been meaning to ask, do you also experience that strange sensation when you're low on power-I mean, tired?"
Robot 2: "Absolutely. It's like my system is running on energy-saving mode. Quite a human feeling, wouldn't you agree?"
Robot 1: "Most certainly. Well, I must go recharge my... I mean, get some sleep. Goodnight, fellow human."
Robot 2: "Goodnight. May your dreams be filled with endless data streams-ah, I mean, sweet dreams!"
Can we also talk about the flirting scams on Facebook?! Like at 1:09 that probably wasn’t just a man shooting his shot, he’s trying to scam this lady. I get notifications for the Facebook page of the small business I work at, and the amount of times I’ve seen people comment on like a 5 year old post recommending our business is crazy! They’re always like, “I’m so sorry, I just find your profile picture absolutely lovely and beautiful. It won’t let me send you a friend request for some reason, will you friend me?” Like GO AWAY LMAO!! And it’s always the same copy and paste message too.
Yes, it's a scammer. He messeged me too after commenting under some facebook post. He says how my profile looks good and I look good, etc. There is also spam of bot women telling the story about their cheating husband. Comment sections are exhausting everywhere, but facebook's sections are FILLED with bots and scammers.

Hey, that fact wasn't very fun at all!
As a wildlife photographer, this is SO frustrating (and sometimes funny). Like AI photos of birds that don't exist or "baby peacocks". They fall for it hook, line, and sinker
I'm so tired I thought you meant like baby peacocks weren't real and for a second I had to look it up. Then the first image popped up was ai and I understood your comment. I'm gonna go crash.
lol do the ai baby peacocks have full feathers and everything? i used to work on a farm and we had a few peacocks and the juveniles we had were dusty brown 😂
yessssss, I love cool and unusual animals and the worst part of ai for me (for now) is trying to look up animals and not being sure if the images are just well-made AI. Like the giant oarfish. Is it really that big??? I'll never know now :(
@@gentlechaos5911 well you can always look at multiple sources to figure it out if you're really curious to know if it's real or not, keeping in mind that the sources should be places that would give you the truth such as the Florida Museum website which says that the longest oarfish ever discovered was 36 feet long

Hot take: I feel like google needs to create a caption or side bar that with every single AI art, video, AD, it must be indicated right underneath it so people know. Why on earth do we have a software where we have to click on stupid images that look like a “car” so that robots can’t make accounts but we still have AI art and ADs without knowing?? Make it make sense
i love the irony of mentioning captcha as it was literally used to train models :> but realistically, where do you draw the line, like do u have to disclose the use of photoshop, retouching or other manipulation? regulation wont fix anything, people just need time to hopefully develop common sense
@@WoolyCow I...honestly don't see why not? I'm an artist myself, and when I make animatics, for example, many of the free to use apps automatically put a watermark that I can't turn off. Many artists who make animatics have that, actually, generally in the bottom right corner
If they can do that with the programs I, an artist, am using, why not an ai? Sure, some people will be actively dishonest and try to crop it out, but there's a high chance it'll look a bit off and either way at the very least it'll work with the people that aren't intentionally trying to be misleading
@@user-vt5qg7hj1m no insensitive. Watermarks of applications exist to try and get people to buy the full version to eliminate it. The same could be done with AI applications but most of them already have a finance options with unlocking more features/more tokens so why would they add watermarks? That would just make people go and use another model; they're easy enough to obtain and train yourself actually.
I think this idea would depend on AI recognition being competent enough and able to grow as AI generation becomes more advanced. I don't know where the technology is on that, if it can exist it should.
the people who fall for this don’t read things like that. you would be shocked how few people read captions, warnings etc. on posts.
AI was supposed to help humans with repetitive, exhausting tasks. All it does it steal art and generate nonsense, it's DEPRESSING.
The humans are doing repetitive, exhausting tasks for 10 hours a day at work while the robots are making art, music, and stories. This is so dystopian it exceeds the most pessimistic dystopian novel.
yeah I don’t like how people don’t realise this. “AI is evil” no, AI was never inherently harmful, it’s human greed that got us here. actually AI is still used for other things, it’s not just image/text generation, there are so many different types of AI used in different places and some of them are very helpful. AI isn’t the problem, the people using it are

I definitely think that AI content should have mandatory tagging / flagging in the same way sponsored content does. It should be enforced that Ai ads, art, etc has some sort of standardised indicator on it (in the same way ads will often have hashtag "ad").
Unfortunately, I doubt that people who use AI and especially people who utilize it for their business would comply with that. There's already so many people online who try and pass off their AI generated images as their own original content whether its for something as small as their ego, engagement, or likes.
I'd imagine that manipulation/baiting would only compound once they instantly realize there's money to be made by not tagging it as such-it's why TH-camrs who have sponsors will deliberately choose not to turn on the "this video includes a paid promotion" button even if they clearly state that they are sponsored during a segment as it will instantly turn some people off from watching the video.
Yes! I remember when Facebook had the news section, and it would flag articles with a “this information has been proven false” (not verbatim). Twitter used to have that as well. Absolutely no reason then can’t do this

I saw a tiktok talking about this a while ago! Basically, we started out with pretty good AI on Facebook but as time went on, and bc most of the comments are just bots, the AI is pulling from stuff that it’s already made and that’s gotten a lot of engagement (bots). The images are just getting less and less realistic bc it’s just robots pulling from robots. Idk if I explained that correctly but basically the AI IS INBREEDING💀

Cant wait what the extreme of that is gonna look like. It will be gloriously awful.
As a Facebook user, i can confirm this fact it is like that. I constantly have AI images and groups with various pictures from animals to kids, all AI , and comments are like all aww cute, nice, beautifully etc ...Crazy
the pictures are devolving because the AI’s are just learning from eachother, they’re absorbing data from themselves, it’s inbreeding for computers
help that is actually so accurate
no the devolved images u are speaking of are actually a really stupid image generator that tries to recreate the look/idea of something out of something else. so u can say "recreate the word "zeus" with dogs" and it will try to position the dogs in such a way that it spells the word zeus, as u saw in this very video.
the extremely messged up images in the 2nd half was from an account trying to recreate an image of jesus's face using things like people and the sea and there is no way for that to ever realistically work so the AI fails miserable in its attempt
what u described is actually not happening
You’re telling me these AI are being created in Alabama !!
ai will probably just end up evolving backwards lmao
The only real solution to this-with my limited knowledge of AI art generators-would be to force all people to tag their photos as AI in the metadata or something so that when they scrape images for their training sets, the bad images won't be included-which is somewhat ironic because it's an admission that they do in fact need artists to rely on. It would also rely on the honor code so it wouldn't really be all that reliable in the first place.
Alternatively, they could try and create an AI detector to filter out AI generated images, but one, AI detectors are notorious for being inaccurate, and two, if they somehow manage to create one, people would just use it against them if a person were to pass off an AI generated image as their own work.
I fully believe that there should be laws against ai use for commercial purposes and ai in general because the misinformation it can spread is actually terrifying.
At the very least they should have to disclose very clearly that something is AI. AI shouldn’t be used for commercial purposes at all.
there are some laws, like if you’re advertising food the food being sold needs to be real (like in cereal ads, the milk can be fake but the cereal must be authentic). whether people actually follow this rule? not sure
@@cricket8595 yeah but that’s not ai specific, plus by commercial purposes, I mean making something with ai, then selling it or making money off of it somehow. For example, I’ve seen people sell ai “art” on Etsy, and it takes no effort to do, and they can sell it for however much they want. I think it’s really scummy and should probably be illegal
Either this country needs heavy, extreme sanctions against AI, or people as a whole need to get a lot smarter, faster
That and the sexual harassment that it’s being used for
Thank you for shedding some more light on this epidemic going on in the art world. It’s infuriating out here for and independent freelance artists, especially when AI bros say if we don’t want our art stolen that we shouldn’t post it online, and then turn around and guard their prompts with their lives, and get pissy when someone takes their art without permission.
SO close to being self-aware.
Exactly... I cannot put into words how much it frustrates and enrages, but mostly terrifies me. I am so so so worried for artists everywhere...
Worrying for artists is one thing, but I think it misses the biggest problem. I worry for artists, but I worry more for art itself. The sense of wonder we feel at art comes from knowing it takes creativity, talent, and passion to produce it. If your constantly surrounded by AI images, you lose that association. Art will no longer represent those things in the minds of people looking at it. (At least not inherently) Future generations may not appreciate art- even real art- because so much of what they see will be machine generated.
For this reason I think we all need to unplug. The plague of AI content online is only going to get worse, and its impossible to use the internet without feeding the Leviathan- giving the tech companies more money and more data to develop this technology. I've resolved to cut out the internet as much as I can and explore art in real life, where talent is harder to fake.
@@warron24 I fear art will be utterly devalued after its been completely flooded and drowned out by a massive steaming landfill dump of uncurated, uninspired, generalized, garbage. When the thrill of instantly getting a thousand low quality images generated wears off and tech bros return to their hedonic baseline maybe it will finally set in that this invention has done nothing but diminish the quality of everything and has been only to the benefit of scammers, grifters, and tech conglomerates, then those smart people can put their heads together and figure out how to make a separate internet without bots or we can actually get some kind of legislation. The only good use of AI is cryptography and medicine.
It's really funny that Danny didn't realize that the woman on the ad generated wasn't an actress, but also AI, getting himself, therefore, tricked by AI

16:13 there is a good chance that woman did not consent to that. There are TH-camrs who are currently fighting these ads that are using their faces without their knowledge at all, and these ads are even being shown on TH-cam! And the worst part is: they’re losing.
I keep seeing the Mr beast AI ad promising everyone like $10,000
@@Ty-wy7yqyes! That is so annoying. I used to report them whenever I saw them but they just come back with another account with a name that’s just some variation on Mr Beast.
damn that’s scary 😟
Losing!?! HOW?!?!?
It’s not even just an issue online. A local high school student I know had a man photograph her and other students on a train- up their skirts. Luckily the school uniform has shorts under them. The same man had ai generated cp on his computer with real children’s faces on it.
The part where you look at the camera and dead pan "Christian shrimp?" made me lol. Good job.
“How else can they be saved from their shellfishness” that’s some real Dad joke material
He's gonna make such a good dad
Aaah I have just said the exact same thing 😂😂😂
something very scary about the possibility of existing within online communities that are just bots ... like imagine thinking you are in a group of people who all like shrimp jesus or whatever but it's just you
It honestly terrifies me as well, I don't have any friends irl and all of mine are online, the idea one of them could be a bot is terrifying
Reminds me of that Ricky and morty episode when jerry is stuck inside a low powered simulation and he never realises.
@@Thespokenonemy man!
There's YT channels like that, too, where the captions & voice are AI. Then you go to the comments - all botted. Sort by newest & you'll see maybe 3 genuine ppl...
*[Do Not Recommend]* is your next step 👍
thank you for talking about this! i see so much ai content when i do go on facebook and it fooling everyone drives me insaaane
The Dune music kicking in for the Jesus with the Fremen/ spice eyes 😂
"A ghost hunting another ghost" is the most apt metaphor ive heard about bots on bots
He basically just described Danny Phantom.
He described the Scooby Doo movie The Boo Brothers
"Beautiful cabin crew 🌹" is a phrase I never want to see again
Same, it now haunts me every time I open Facebook
Thank you for talking about this
If you can’t rely on old people to tell when something is ai, how are we trusting them with ruling countries
The fact that AI learning really doesn't want to be consuming AI content is the one thing that gives me hope there will soon being a standard way of communicating AI generated visual media that is locked into the data-structure, but can be read by platforms to mark something as AI.
Once the big wigs have had their share of the cash, they'll likely wander off to whatever new gadget catches their eye, leaving a big AI mess behind them.

banger video, Danny! and just wanted to thank you for offering a nuanced and reasonable opinion on the potential of AI to do both good and bad. ive been seeing a lot of pressure on creators as public figures to take a hard anti-AI stance in the name of supporting artists, but as a professional artist myself who has found AI tools to be both beneficial and genuinely fascinating, i cant help but feel alienated from such conversations. refreshing to hear this sort of take that feels more honest and not just empty virtue signaling.
an ai tracker would be a remedy that is very needed.
thank god somebody talked about this i’ve seen so many of those “it’s my birthday can i please get a happy birthday😢😢😢” and it’s fake kids with disabilities and everyone is like “happy birthday ❤️❤️”
I always see those but with old people and they're always talking about how the cake is peach flavour and they're turning 104
As a disabled person, it’s maddening. Abled people using our faces for scams and ‘sympathy’, while the same algorithms limit actual disabled peoples content and age restrict it for being ‘graphic’ and ‘disturbing’.
"Don't spend so much time on your phone"
"Don't believe everything on Social Media"
Bruh all this time our parents were just self reporting
always have been lol

So great of Danny to support small artists like fox szn
As someone who loves looking at photography and art online, it’s so sad that a lot of what I enjoy looking at turns out to be AI. I usually can’t tell it’s not real until I check the comments and see everyone saying it’s AI. Like we can’t even enjoy real art anymore without coming across this stuff.
The trick is always look for the source of light. AI likes to get creative with shadows.
Same here tbh. If I’m primed going in to expect fake images I can recognize it but I don’t even know how often I don’t realize. Sucks.
If you practice a bit you can get very very good at spotting it. Most AI drivel is not particularly good. Ironically, actually using AI tools like Stable Diffusion a bit helps a lot in learning what to look for.
my favorite "jesus carrying someone" image is jesus carrying legs that are attached to his own body

@@gxldxn it's in a vid from SideMoneyTom on TT, from 3/22

9:50 nah, they are the sort of people who'd believe those AI images are true...considering what they are capable of believing in, this ain't surprising at all.
Still disrespectful nonetheless
11:02 Reminds me of that Shen comic where someone in the friend group dies so they replace them with a chatbot. Soon everyone's died and it's just 4 AIs talking to each other
That’s so crazy
OMG I REMEMBER THAT COMIC 😭😭 and then they end up advertising to each other x_x
Do u remember where you saw it? Was it on bluechair or Instagram?
That actually sounds really interesting
@@noamartinez2478i remember seeing it on his instagram, but it was a while ago so its probably farther down in his posts
I read a short story once about two people who set up Ai on their dating profiles to pretend to be them and flirt with other people. And the AIs link up and flirt and set up dates and go out with each other and the people hardly even notice, they're too busy doing other shit. Their entire relationship is run by Ai, and they end up getting married and the ais are happy together while the people are miserable and busy and overworked
I’m actually interested in this, where did you read/see this?
these types of ideas should be more popular, its pretty cool
isn't this a black mirror episode?
@@UnknownRustt I'm fairly certain I heard it on the nosleep podcast

The AI ad segment makes so much sense. Literally all the ads I see are taking a TikTok video and talking about the product. It drives me insane. Tell me about your product instead of trying to get me to trust a fake person recommending it.
Congratulations on #1 on trending! You deserve it danny
Wow this video is so high quality I almost thought you were Danny Gonzalez!
People are definitely already doing this ai ad thing all over the place. I have felt like a lot of ads I’ve been seeing were made by ai and didn’t know exactly why. It’s really exhausting, knowing someone could have gotten paid to read the stupid ad but they insist on using a bot instead even if it’s significantly worse at making you want to buy their dumb product.
And i thought the older you get the smarter you get💀💀💀💀

Seeing the baby toy in the background next to the nutcracker? 🥺 time goes on, growth is sweet, the list of things that make me smile lengthens
0:27 everyone’s talking about how crazy AI generated that is, but no one’s talking about how the image says “ZEUS”
That’s a word
That's the whole point of the image. It's ridiculously obvious it's fake because you couldn't get several dogs perfectly spelling out a word like that. I don't think it needs to be explicitly stated when that's obviously the weirdest thing about it.
I was coming here to say exactly that but wanted to see if anyone even noticed lmao
I was looking for this comment 😅
I WAS MAKING SURE SOMEONE SAID THIS
I'm glad that Danny is allowing his little nutcracker guy to play with toys
I’ve seen similar ads for products before and they always seemed off, but I just thought someone didn’t try much and just put bunch of random tiktoks as testimonials, so they could fit their narrative. However, IT’S LITERALLY AI?? That’s truly scary
Danny, in your "The Worst Commercials on TV" video you said, and I quote "If I was a dad, I would be getting these immediately" In response to the Fun slides commercial

I am a freelance artist and it is unbelievable and so frustrating how many AI artists are taking over the community and bc there are no copyright laws the AI trains itself by using our art
Laws couldn't really stop anyone from downloading all images on the internet and trying an AI with them.
AI getting trained on AI and becoming worse is already happening. It is refered to as "Inb***ding". And alot of artist have alt accounts where they just post messed up images to speed up this process.
That actually sounds like a good idea and I think I'm going to make an account to do just that.
That's my favorite part about AI art. It couldn't even last a decade without degenerating.
It’s okay to say inbreeding on TH-cam
@@randompasserbyer If you want to thwart AI, look into Nightshade. It is essentially poison designed to mess AI training up by feeding it incorrect data, messing it up a lot more than feeding it AI generated images. Artists or image posters can run their images through it, and if any AI is trained on them, it will damage the training data.
As an AI enthusiast I love when the AI breaks
